Pirate Republic Seafood & Grill

Among the great reviews I think some fairness is deserved. We ordered a non spicy dish that somehow turned out to be super spicy. When addressed to the waitress, she didn’t see to want to help at first until I insisted that I’m not accepting this dish this way. My daughter’s medium well steak was still close to medium rare after the second attempt at correcting it. The octopus appetizer was great. Also if you are considering this place for the menu on the website, the actual menu they give you is different and cut down. Would I come back? Probably not. My favourite spot for seafood is still the Rustic Inn.

Great place ! A hidden Gem ! As soon as you get there we were promptly seated with smiles and jokes ! Made a reservation and asked to be seated by the water , I really did not see a bad seat in the place . Everyone seated was joking and smiling . The server was prompt ,polite and a people person . Started out with the delicious grilled octopus! It went so quick I could only provide a picture of it eaten already! Shrimps were full ! No tails and delicious! Salad was crisp and fresh ! Nothing ordered was fishy tasting at all , just to show the freshness ! All the servers are there to help at all times ! Chocolate mousse on the money ! Just be careful with the Brazilian peppers .... whoo they are hot ! Ha ha h a Definitely going back in the next week or days ! GREAT PLACE !

Been looking for a great spot on the water for a while. Hands down, I found what I was looking for food and atmosphere. Amazing seafood dishes with a touch of Brazilian sauces and spices. Easy parking, great staff and amazing host, Rufino! Definitely will be back. Everything was kick ass...

We took our clients out to dinner here while at a work conference. The servers were friendly and gave food and drink recommendations. Everyone's food was amazing. My only disappointment was that the whole red snapper sold out. Gives me a reason to come back when I'm in town again! View of the river & downtown was beautiful.

We went here for years but a recent visit is our last. For some reason someone decided this is the right spot to get every last dime from tourists. The food is only fair on their best day. While the servers are doing their very best to make it work the salty looking guy (maybe the owner?) at the front desk is surly and nasty to the help. Beyond this a shrimp dish with pineapple "sauce" was served with a tablespoon of the sauce and when I asked for more it was an additional .50 on the bill. It was almost funny if it wasn't so insulting to a local who lunches out every day,. I think this place is demonstrating a desperate desire to drain every penny from a good location. So, tourist please don't do it! Go instead to the Down Towner nearby-food is fine just not filthy pirate statues, but nice help and a river view,. Or make the trip up near the beach you'll find a great spot on the water...Coconuts.
