Platte City Self-Storage

My experience at Platte City Self-Storage (with the owner) was a positive one. My partner and I rented a truck (24 hour rental) to move my items from a storage unit into our new home. Pick up was quick and simple. Furthermore, the owner was very friendly. We had no issues upon returning the truck. The gas, mileage, and price was fair. I highly recommend dealing with the owner she was wonderful. We will rent from this location again, when we need to move from our current military location.

Look at reviews. I am not the only one stating this lady is rude. Wow that response. She is also a liar so just another reason to stay away. I never threatened her or the property and trying to call someone to explain that you didn't know and to apologize and offer to come get the stuff you put in the dumpster Debbie is not defined as harassment. I did not want to speak to you in front of your customers I specifically asked you to go speak to me in private and you said no that whatever I had to say could be said in front of your customers. It was ONE Box not boxes so let's get that straight. The sofa/lounge chair as she calls it was a child's lounge chair not a large piece of furniture. I have seen multiple items placed by this dumpster by tenants and no sign posted stating you can't use it so I thought it was for tenants to use. Tried to explain and offered to get my few items picked up and she would not listen, would cut me off when speaking and hang up on me. There is no communication with her she is just extremely rude. Let's get another thing straight also. No one came running into the room from another office and there was no sheriff there. Proper thing to do for the dumpster would be to put a sign on it or lock it up. Do not leave a dumpster unlocked out in the open with no sign and expect people to Just assume they can't use it. Try listening to people when they speak to you and be nice. This was so uncalled for and I did not deserve to be treated the way you treated me. It's unfortunate you are the reason My day turned out to be so bad. Really sad that any business owner should be allowed to treat people this way especially after giving you a bunch of my hard earned money. I would rate this zero stars if I could. DO NOT GO HERE. I am a super nice professional business woman and I have never dealt with anyone like this before. We have had a storage building here for well over a year and always paid my rent. This Debbie lady who says she is the owner is absolutely the rudest and most hateful person I have ever had to do business with. She should not own a business if this is how she is going to conduct herself. I would not treat my worst enemy like she treated me today. I cannot say enough about how horrible my leaving experience was all because I put an empty box and a few other small items in the dumpster on the property that by the way has no sign stating you can't use it. You would have thought I committed a felony crime. I am warning you find another place because she is horrible.

DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION!!! I returned a Budget rental truck to this location and everything seemed fine at the time. I topped off the fuel tank right before returning the truck. When I returned the truck, the attendant at this storage location got into the cab to check the milage and fuel gauge. Since there was no problem, he charged a $10.61 “Drop” fee and on the printed receipt put “Topoff Fuel......0 gals @ 0.00/gal.” Everything seemed ok, I even voiced that I was interested in storage unit prices. Two days later, my credit card was hit for $54.41. When I called to inquire, they said that it had to be topped off and that it was the “Fueling and Top Off” charges. After jumping through many hoops (Did not have fuel receipts, had credit card statements faxed to them), there is no solution except that one of us is lying. Since I know that I topped off the fuel tank two miles before returning the truck, it must be this location that somehow lied about filling the truck. I would suggest not using Budget Truck Rental, but if you do, make sure you keep ALL receipts from the gas stations! This was not voiced to my wife and I. Good luck being charged the fair amount that was agreed on!
