Pump It Up

I came here with my kids for a 5 year old friend's birthday party. Place was clean and the room with the inflatables was small enough that I could watch what was going on without running around like I've needed to do in other indoor playgrounds. I'm not sure of the pricing since I was just there for a party, but I was told to always call or check online before coming since they are normally booked for parties. Staff was friendly and helpful. Kids had a lot of fun.

First things first. The kids had fun. They were aged 2 to 10, and they had a good time. Now the other stuff. As far as customer service, I would rate it a Zero. Everyone we came in contact with were extraordinarily rude. This was for a birthday party for my son, and the "host" had the audacity to say he could only open 2 of his gifts. Really?? I would rate the value as horrible as well. We spent nearly 300 bucks. First there was the $100 non-refundable deposit. Then it was $193 for 2 hours on a Saturday. We had to eat their pizza and drinks. There was enough for one slice for each kid. It was garbage pizza, but to be fair most places like this that is what they serve. The facility itself was actually pretty good. There were only 3 large inflatables, and at first I was a little disappointed. But as I saw the kids interact I realized it was probably the proper amount because the kids split off into their little groups and no one was left alone. The inflatables were a bit beat up, but they were clean. I really wish the staff at Pump it Up Bellaire were friendlier and more helpful. Seems like most of them treated us like were a pain in the ass(and perhaps we were, but we none the less are the customers) and that the cost was not so high. It would have made the experience so much more pleasant. Because of these two things I cannot recommend nor will I ever go back to this place.

The "guides" kind of stayed to themselves. They helped out with passing out pizza and drinks but let the kids play. The equipment looked fairly new, but there wasn't a lot of choices, just two slides and a big bounce house. Pizza was typical "kids birthday pizza", don't expect gourmet. However there was plenty for our small group (10 kids). My only complaints were that they did not let us know that the birthday boy could not open his presents there. We were informed as we were bringing in his big present that they bag his gifts up for us to bring home (a big garbage bag). Also, they had someone going around taking pictures for a while, but did not let us know that our package did not include said pictures. We were told at the end that we could upgrade our package and receive the pictures. Overall, the kids had a great time. Just make sure you get all the details up front and ask questions.
