Fantastic place to buy parts, have your boat serviced, or ask for advise. They are always friendly, know your name, and never try to sell you something you don't really need. Gus and Will are always available for advise and provide great service.

I purchased a new 20’ Glastron boat from Reading Boat Works 11 years ago (2005). After shopping around, we decided on two of the boats they offered. We returned to decide between the two. We received excellent, no pressure, take your time advice from the staff. We were encouraged to spend time in each boat and feel what it would be like to be on the water. We walked away with two written quotes for the boats. We spoke with other boat owners to find that their advice was spot on. Once we decided, I returned with check in hand. I walked in and announced (as a joke) I heard anyone that buys a boat today gets a free pair of water ski’s. You’ll need the free tow rope too was the response. After doing the paperwork with the very professional finance person we were told to return a few days later to pick up the boat and be ready to spend 2 – 3 hours with them. “We need to assure your tow hitch is ready and teach you a few things”. I returned the following Saturday morning with my beaming 14 year old son. We backed our Tahoe into a well-lit warehouse where our spotless, shining like the sun, boat was waiting. A tape measure was used to assure proper alignment between the boat and hitch. Having operated, towed, launched and retrieved numerous boats, I assured the polite gentlemen I was ready to do this. I was told that “we have to assure you have the necessary skills to handle this boat. So we will hitch, tow, launch, operate and retrieve the boat together”. (if you don’t mind) Just to assure you don’t have any problems. I contained myself but my son was practically jumping up and down let’s go lets go! After hitching up I drove a twisty road to the dock. OK good, you know how to tow, I was told. We were taught how to properly remove, fold, and store the cover. Prepare the boat for launch and launch. Advised underway how to break in the engine and handle the boat well. We were taught proper retrieving procedures and how to reapply the cover. We were also taught boat launch etiquette. Something I wish all knew. When I left Reading Boat Works with our boat I knew more about how to own and operate a boat than I knew before I walked in.
I bring the boat back each fall to be winterized. I have been told numerous times “we didn’t do the oil and fluids because you didn’t put enough hours on the engine this year to need it”. You launch, drive out, drop the anchor and relax don’t you? I do that too.” Is what they say.
I do not know all the details of the few negative reviews before mine, but as a person who grew up on Long Island surrounded by boats and marinas, an engineer and manufacturing Maintenance Manager for longer than I care to admit, I would jump at the chance to have any one of them on my staff.
