Rusty Lantern Diner

I haven't had prime rib this good in years! The end cut was truly a blessing, dove right with just a fork. The place is simple, hometown freaky good fantastic , I'll totally be back for breakfast. In a one cafe town the food is often very basic and hurried, not here. The ranch atmosphere is refreshing and REAL! The people are super nice and friendly even though they are quite busy. I wish I had room for dessert, rhubarb strawberry pie and others look sooooo promising but ,,, I'm stuffed!

I have been to the Rusty Lantern 2 times and for dinner both times. The menu is limited but the food is good. The prime rib sells out quickly on Friday and Saturday evenings so if that is what you are after I would recommend arriving early. We arrived at 7 and had to wait for a table for about 15 min. I was happy with the service and the friendly atmosphere. My wife has been to the Rusty Lantern for breakfast and said it was fantastic... especially the cinnamon rolls.

This is a wonderful little place to have a meal. Great service and quality. Very filling. Reasonable prices. We've been there about a dozen times now, and have never been disappointed.

The staff is some of the best service I have ever had. I used to be a server and I know what to look for. The food is cooked perfectly. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and a salad. The best chicken fried steak I have ever had. I had honey mustard with my salad and the honey mustard was so good, I had to ask about it. It was homemade. I will definitely be going back and I will recommend The Rusty Lantern to anyone.

Stopped in to see if they were serving my favorite ... Ham & Bean soup with cornbread. Yes! The best ever, other than my Mom's! Love it! The waitresses were very personable and you can tell they spoil the locals...nothing wrong with that! Worth the hour plus drive.
