Sarapes Restaurant

I used to love this place. Been eating there for 10 years. Born & raised in Texas I love authentic Mexican. I didn't mind the staring in the eyes of a complete strangers while I ate ( practically sitting on each other while dining in) I solved that problem by ordering take out. I strategically ordered single tacos or tamales or tostadas instead of the combos to save money because i found their rice and beans lacking in flavor. I would order twice a month for years until the younger gentleman who was ringing me out said something derogatory about me. He was chatting in Spanish with his friend who was sitting at the booth near the register/drink cooler. He said something about me to his friend and they laughed. You see I don't think he realized I understood Spanish or the slang word he called me. Oh buddy I understood and I have never felt so humiliated in my life. I hope he fixes his attitude and realizes Spanish isn't a secret language most the population can speak or understand it. EVEN THE SLANG WORDS!!

It was my first time eating at this restaurant and I must say that the waitress did a horrible job. We order some beers and we told the lady what kind we wanted when she came back she brought another kind that we didn't ask. When we told her that they were the wrong kind she gave us an attitude and starting to kind of argue with us that we told her we order the wrong beer she brought. Honestly to me that is not professional at all it felt like she didn't want to be there. On top of that it was very price for the ok food we got. I will not be returning to this location.

Attentive service, accommodated our vegetarian diet, great flavors. Decor could use updating, seat cushions a bit worn away but overall great experience!

Best place for Mexican food around. No other place in town compares to how good the food is here.

Good food, but it's a little pricey, especially for a Mexican Restaurant.
