Sawgrass Mutual Insurance Company

I would give them a 0 if I could. They insured us. We have a home that is 14 years old in pristine condition. Our agent encouraged us to try this company to save money. Our previous company came out and took pictures and inspected the roof and renewed our policy. Before that we had a roofing company inspect our roof to see what the reasonable life expectancy was. Roofing company said no problems, think about replacement in about 3 years. Sawgrass took our money, sent us a policy and then sent someone out to take pictures of the roof. They then informed us that unless we replaced the roof they would cancel the policy. We paid the premium in full up front and now we have to wait to get our money back but in the meantime we have to secure other insurance and pay for it. I don't know what they saw that jo one else saw but insurance companies in Florida are just ridiculous. They want top dollar but won't accept any risk at all. I think they way they handled this was very underhanded. I can only imagine what a nightmare trying to get them to pay on a claim would be. I would not use this company after this experience.

This is a terrible company. I've had an open claim for over three months and can't get anyone to return repeated phone calls. Stay very far away from
