Dr. George has been my primary care Dr. for 15+ years. He has great bed side manner. He always checks with me to see how I’m doing, makes sure I have all medications I may nee.. etc. Overall he’s been amazing and I’m very happy with the treatment I’ve received thus far.
I’ve scheduled a first time visit with Dr. Restrepo through the Aetna app which somehow took me to the Zocdoc app, everything went through smoothly and looked perfect until the day of the appointment when I’ve called the office because I couldn’t find the location and after being on hold for more than 10 minutes the person on the phone was extremely rude, she kept using a very interesting tone, almost scolding me for coming on a Thursday and using the Zocdoc app. She repeated herself over and over as I wasn’t able to understand what she was saying… probably because I’m not a native English speaker and I do have an accent, which can lead to many other assumptions but I don’t want to get into sensitive topics. So it turns out that Dr. Restrepo is not available Thursdays and Fridays but I was able to scheduled the appointment for a Thursday through the Zocdoc app. The lady on the phone was very clear about the app not having their accurate schedule which is very confusing because they shouldn’t be linked to something that doesn’t work and creates inconveniences to the patients. After the lady was done being rude I asked her if it was possible for me to come up and try to schedule and appointment for the next available day, she said I could but didn’t sound like she was willing to help, I then asked what was the floor and told her for the 3rd time that it was my first time in the building and she said: 12th floor, I asked if I should make a right or a left and she said: “nothing, you’ll see the office there” which wasn’t true because the medical center is actually to the right all the way to the end of the hallway. Once I finally found the suite and got to the front desk two ladies were there, but the lady who I spoke on the phone with wasn’t one of them. I greeted them, they barely responded and once I started explaining why I was there they kind of showed annoyance and rolled their eyes. One of them left, and the one sitting at the desk took her time to help me and find out the available dates for an appointment, she mumbled March 5th and that was the most interaction I had with her. I left. Disappointed and super stressed out because my blood pressure is very high, I ran out of medication and really needed to be seen by a physician. The whole experience was disappointing, frustrating and discouraging, I wasn’t even seen by Dr. Restrepo and honestly I’m not interested in being seeing by her or any of the physicians from Southern Maryland Medical Center, that’s not how a patient should be treated. The health industry should be the one with the highest standards in hospitality, patients are vulnerable and struggling with their health, being sick is a stressful situation so where should we get support, compassion and comfort if not in our health providers?!
Dr. George has been my primary physician over 10 years. He is very concerned about his patients and offer excellent medical service. He is available whenever needed and is a people person doctor.
I like my doctor here. However, I have never waited less than an hour no matter what time I schedule. Today, I arrived at 8:20 for my appointment. I wasn’t seen by the doctor until 9. My appointment lasted 15-20 mins and I have now been waiting for blood work for 40 mins. The inability to maintain scheduled times appears unprofessional and suggests little respect for patient’s time. I think it may be time to change to a new practice.
Had an emergency and was told there was no appt til October but they would call me back if there was something sooner. So scheduled one over the phone that day...called back 2 months to get the date and guess what... the receptionist didn't book me for an appointment. That's not even my main issue... my main issue is when you finally get seen they don't keep in touch with you as they say and they don't book your next visit even though they say they will.. I was supposed to see the doctor in Jan for a checkup... they never sent an email or anything..God forbid you call. You'll be on hold for a decade. Horrible service...this is expected for people with medicaid.. don't be surprised.
My favorite Doctor. He was on time, impeccable, and right on target, as regards to my medical needs. The support staff, Regina and Diode were at their usual best. Please visit them for all your medical needs.
Time seen by a medical professional: 5 minutes and thirty one seconds Time waiting: an hour and forty minutes Seriously if you respect yourself, value your time and money go somewhere else. I arrive at my scheduled appointment time five minutes early, ended up leaving before my bloodwork. Seriously not recommend do not respect you or your time and money.
Dr. Washington is one of the best doctors I ever had. He’s very compassion and sufficient. I recommend him to all of my friends and family members
I’ve been coming here since I was 18. I’m now 24, and Dr. George & Dr. Washington are great primary care physicians. Lately I’ve been going to Dr.Washington , his schedule has been more so open for my walk in appointments. He is fast , efficient, intellectual , and always aims to ease my mind. Sometimes I can be worried about combating my health issues, but he helps me stay at bay and calm while giving me path ways to better health.
The best customer service, and care rendered at Southern Maryland Medical Group Greenbelt. Dr. Cecil George has been my primary care physician for over 10 years. He is the absolute best, knowledgeable, compassionate, and listens to your needs. The staff is top tier, and professional. Especially Ms. Regine Barton. She is very diligent and responsive to any all patient requests and needs. I would highly recommend this group to individuals looking for new medical care and services.
