Southwick's Zoo

This zoo is amazingly well kept! Staff is very knowledgeable of the animals that they have. enclosures were a nice size for them. A lot of things for children to do. The goats and deer were a huge hit as long with the giraffes. The two boys loved it and defiantly going back for a second time. A lot of animals were out for Mid-April. Staff were also excited to see us and tell the boys about the animals and how they would live in the wild. Can't wait to go back. A lot of walking but they have benches and picnic tables every where for you to sit and near the animals so you can watch them.

This zoo is quite the surprise in the middle of Mendon. The zoo has a good layout and interesting exhibits. There are a lot of animals to see, and they all seem fairly happy in their habitats. I love to visit the deer park to feed the deer. This place isn't a city zoo by any means but it is well worth a visit. The management of the zoo is very well organized and they often have daily activities and shows. I've even won a treasure hunt before and was given a big basket of gifts from their excellent gift shop. I was there for my birthday and it was an excellent birthday at Southwick's.

I've been going to the Bronx zoo since I was a kid and this is no Bronx zoo. But it was big and clean and more interactive. A great place for a day with the family. And there's a really nice bar and restaurant on the premises. Great place!

Have been here for a couple of school fieldtrips. It's a nice zoo, spread out with lots to do. They have a place space, maze, an air ride. Chance to pet the goats, hold some birds and get close to deer. Plenty of parking, restrooms and places to have a snack. Also a lot of nice trails to hike/bike around the outside of the zoo, with parking at the back of the lot.

This Zoo was a lot of fun with my two year old daughter. Many animals, rides (that she's unfortunately too small to ride, but offered an opportunity to explain rice safety), and even a bird that said "hi" to her. She had a great time, therefore I had a great time.
