3.5 stars. This is a small zoo that has been undergoing improvements for awhile. If it is local to you and you can get a discount (we got discounted passes through our public library), it's certainly a nice way to spend a half day. The employees are friendly and helpful and happy to talk about the animals and I love that many of the animals are disabled/rescued. You can easily see this zoo in 2-3 hours tops with small kids. There is food available, but we brought a picnic lunch, which I recommend.

A great time spent learning and watching the animals with the family! Will be returning and recommending Stone Zoo. The only disappointment was the rides they advertise. They are geared more for the younger ages. Would love to see a camel or elephant ride here in the future. A great presentation about 'the birds of flight!' Definitely educational and entertaining, with the ability to take pictures at the end and ask addition questions!

Love the Stone Zoo, so many nice animals. Well kept and maintained and discount tickets available. Always something cool here and great to take the kids. Even the food is unexpectedly good for zoo food. My daughter loved the petting zoo the most. Would definitely come back here time and time again!

I love this Zoo. It's being renovated and looking really nice. It's also very manageable as you can see everything in about 1.5 hours. It's great for little kids and there's a good variety of animals. Everything is labeled and the kids can learn a lot just by reading the descriptions with you. My kids love the Gibbons, the bears, the flamingos, and of course the large cats. There is also a gift shop, a playground, and a small concessions area that isn't open all year. In December they host Zoo lights and that is always a lot of fun. Membership is the best deal.

An AZA accredited zoo with beautiful animals kept in ways appropriate for their care. I love taking my child, it's always an adventure. They are part of the species survival program for several endangered animals, so when you see babies, you know they were bred for a purpose and not for tourism. I love that many of the displays have acrylic that makes the barriers invisible. Sometimes I'm able to take photos as if there is nothing there. I have a membership, which works also at the Franklin Park Zoo. If you visit each Zoo once you paid for the membership, plus it's considered a donation on your taxes.
