This is my go to place for soulful relaxation and quality time with my spouse. We attempt to go camping here at least for times a year. We enjoy watching meteor showers and clear starry skies. Close to shopping for last minute gear and some of the nicest people you have ever met. The people that perform fire watches are extremely nice and very knowledgeable about the area. There are multiple camping areas with the lake and river access. Great time for couples and family camping. Fire permits must be obtained to camp in wilderness areas outside of official camp grounds. Stop at the Fire Station for detailed maps of the area.

Several hiking trails. I did the easy north trail. Would have been worth it to read free paper with trail descriptions before we set out. Early spring was cold. Next time id do the south trail that lets you see the flowers and is very warm in summer

The park was were well maintained and well kept. It was very peaceful and tranquil. I long to go back soon...

Our favorite place to kayak is Utica Reservoir. the lake is surrounded buy granite and Pines. Chances are you'll see osprey and bald eagles. No crowds during the week, but weekends it can get a little crowded. Definitely worth checking out
