This place is awesome. The early season for Mammoth was a disaster; with very low snowfall. The week that we arrived it had been continuously snowing for 2 days. It didn't stop the whole week we were there. Fresh powder every day. The only negative of this week's awesomeness was the wind; which did not let up the entire week. We gladly took the wind in favor of some of the best powder skiing I have ever experienced. Late season is the best. Warmer weather and longer days. On a bad snow year they only stay open until JUNE. On a good snow year it might be July or even August. This is definitely one to put on your skiing bucket list!

Beautiful Eastern Sierra forest. Although this is called a forest, it may not be what some expect. The forest floor is mostly dirt or full of sage, and brush. Its more of a desert forest. There are many lakes, streams, and pine trees, but it is located in the arid Eastern Sierra. Plenty of wildlife to watch, fish to catch, and things to do. Its important to note the in the Owens Valley, summer temps can be in the low 100s, but its much cooler as you rise above the valley floor. Evening and night temps can be very cold even in the peak of summer. A wise decision is to layer clothing.

"Let me tell you, the very best national Forest. Teddy Roosevelt would be proud. It's so Yuuuuuuuge, simply the best, everyone is saying it. Some people, I've heard, call it the Trump of National Forests." - Donald Trump

Our favorite destination camping. Love Alabama hills and Mt Whitney portal. The town of lone pine is a treasure. You have to go to the Western film museum. Also dog friendly.
