The Killer Kern River is Awesome! Plenty of places to jump off of rocks into the river as long as you survey and scout out the safe spots that are deep enough and make sure there isn't any rocks below the surface you can have a really good time in the Kern River Canyon. Just be safe and do your homework.

You will NOT be disappointed. The trees over here are MASSIVE and need to be experienced in person. Definitely worth the trip. In fact, turn it into a little trip and plan to camp out for a night in the park. We had a great time.

Absolutely my favorite place to go to "get away from it all". For me, a much better alternative to Yosemite because it is much less crowded/touristy. The word that comes to mind is serene. Try a leisurely walk around one of the Sequoia-studded meadows. Bliss.

A beautiful drive no matter where you end up. These were along the Kern River on a Sunday afternoon. The roads are have a quite a few turns so pack a sandwich, take it slow, and enjoy the stops along the way. There are plenty of camp grounds no matter what time of the year it may be. So go on and explore nature a bit! :)
