When you see a restaurant that has been around for over 20 year, you know it is good. I had never tried Brazilian food before so everything was surprisingly good to the first-timer. They have a special lunch menu if you go in the right time. And for about $26 per person, you get one appetizer, one entrée, one desert, and one drink. The fish stew and pork stew were really delicious.
Excellent service, great menu options and perfect for large groups. We were a group of 10. We made it more family style. We ordered multiple tapas and 8 entrees. It was enough to share. We came in hungry and left very satisfied. We also brought our own wine. It was a $15 corkage fee. Feijoada-deli-delicious and generous portions. Cheese bread-yumm! Brazilian Paella-different, but tasty Steaks- it had a good flavor but wasn't very tender. We pretty much ordered everything on their menu. I'm just stating the standouts from our evening. It was our daughters's bday, initially they passed out the dessert menu only to take it back and bring a huge baked Alaska. Enough for everyone at our table to share! It's the little things that make come back :
During restaurant week in DC, my brother and I tried this place and we were glad we did. This was our first time in an authentic Brazilian restaurant and we loved every dish. Our server recommended dishes and drinks most authentic to Brazil and we enjoyed all of her suggestions. The flavors married very well and the meats were marinated and prepared well. The menu selection for the restaurant week was pretty big and the price was very reasonable. I would definitely come back here again! Here’s what we ordered: Bolinho de Carne Picanha Biro Brigadier de Colher Com Amendoim melted chocolate bar Caldo de Sururu Churraso Misto Pudim de Leite
Holy hell this place was seriously fantastic! The atmosphere was relaxing and made for a great intimate/romantic dinner. Camila made sure we had a great anniversary celebration. She recommended multiple dishes on the menu - all of which were extremely delectable. She also had assistance from another woman working at the restaurant who’s name I unfortunately do not remember but also provided incredible service. This was our first time but will not be our last. You can’t go wrong with any item and please order the passionfruit mousse with the Brazil liquor poured on top! Camila clearly deserves recognition and a raise based on our experience alone.
In my wanderings, I randomly chose this place for supper. It is situated on the edge of what seems a pleasant, vibrant neighborhood and I enjoyed people watching while I ate. It seemed a popular location. Many people arrived and were greeted in a very friendly manner. I started with a Brazilian lager and a spicy mussell soup sopa de surura. It arrived hot & spicy with a nice presentation. It was very tasty! The portion size was just right - not too filling but not too small to make me feel the price was high. The main was underwhelming. I had the salmon verde. The salmon was a tad dry and didn't really reflect the sauce. The asparagus and white wine sauce, on its own, was tasty. I wish the salmon had taken on the flavor. The potatoes were okay, a bit underseasoned for me. The sautéed vegetables were... boring. Overall, the food was satisfying, but the service was a bit slow. I wasn't in a hurry but felt a little ignored, being a table of one. I'd bring back friends but maybe not have the salmon again. The spicy mussell soup is recommended!
I ordered cheese balls for appiters; it wasn't the best; however, the rest of my food was delicious. There was a very nice and friendly lady there not sure if she's the owner or manager. she made the experience much better.
Two stars because the hostess was incredibly lovely and attentive. Otherwise, the dining service was awful and truly took away from the experience. I came in to scout the place for a corporate event. It took 15min for a waiter to come to my table and didn’t bother to provide any water or ask about beverages before asking what I wanted to eat. Brought the appetizer and disappeared without bringing a plate. He didn’t bother to check on me the entire time I had my main course. Nearly 20min after my plate was cleared I had to flag down a different waiter for a dessert menu. After waiting for ages and several waiters continuing to pass me without a remark, I got up and put on my coat deciding to have dessert elsewhere than continue with such poor service and only then was I attended to and I asked for the bill. The pao de queijo was just ok, but the feijoada was really good.
Dropped by tonight on a whim and could not be more grateful. After tonight’s meal, this restaurant has gracefully and without much difficulty become one of my top three favorite restaurants in DC. The ambiance is delightfully pleasant, with soft music in the background and friendly service. We had their 30th anniversary special two course meal with cocktail and dessert for $45 pp. I got the chicken with coconut rice and vegetables for my main course, and the coxinha for my appetizer. Paired both courses with a traditional caipirinha and ended my time here with a passionfruit mousse. My partner had the feijoada and the coconut flan, which made for the perfect contrast to my dish selection. Do yourself and your friends a favor and come here for your next dinner outing.
I highly recommend Grill from Ipanema. They have the best Brazilian food. Tais is a really good server, she’s friendly and quick, had an amazing experience there :
Ordered the picanha rustica and unfortunately was way overcooked and dry. Dinner companion ordered same dish and his steak looked to be cooked better. Also meat was very under seasoned which only made the fact of being over done even worse. Could have used some type of sauce or fresh cracked pepper/ salt. I felt bad for that poor dry tasteless picanha. Service started out fine but after food was dropped off, we didn’t see our waiter again until we were finishing our last bite of food- never checked how the food was or came by to see if we needed another drink. So at that point them asking if everything was ok was a little late. There was only one other table of two while we were dining in so it was not very busy. If you are going to include gratuity at least give decent service. Caipirinha was good
