The Pittsfield Hotel

As one who was born and raised in Chicago, I assure you will not find better value for the location. You don't need to be a fan of architecture to appreciate the historic significance of the building. And be sure to say hello to the lovely Sophie as you walk in the door :). We were warmly welcomed by Igor at check-in on the 19th floor, and personally shown our room on the 21st floor. The room was outfitted with clean, comfortable beds and furniture in the sitting room. You have everything else you could possibly ask for in the kitchen, from pots and pans to dishes and silverware. Without going into detail, I learned at check-out the staff (thank you Mike and Stephanie) had gone above and beyond to accommodate a reservation snafu not the hotel's fault...for that gesture alone I will be forever grateful. As a guest make sure you heed 1) your reservation details - they clearly state taxes and fees *are not* included, check in times, etc. and 2) the information sheet provided to guests in the room. The latter disclosure will save you from additional charges. I would without question stay at the Pittsfield again.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. This is NOT a hotel! It's a truly terrible airbnb. The air conditioning is so loud, constantly, it's as if you're sleeping in a factory. The toilet water kept running all the time, which was very loud too. It got clogged the second day, and when I called (because they don't have front desk staff) all the manager could say was "let me see what I can do". They didn't have anyone to fix it so we had to move to a different apartment. Luckily for us the only one left was a 2 bedroom which was a nice upgrade. I gave it 2 stars because the location was amazing. That's about it.

BE CAREFUL THEY CHARGE YOU EXTRA RESORT FEE!! I just booked it via booking and I was charged the reasonable price of 58$ for a night excluding city tax fees, local fees etc. On top of that the hotel charges another 60$ as a resort fee. So, let me get it straight, am I paying a penalty for choosing this hotel? What exactly is a resort fee? If they wanted me to pay for the room another 60$, why this amount was excluded for the "room's price tag" in the first place? I am quite disappointed for having to pay twice for the same night, for the same room..

The creepiest hotel ever! The entrance of the building is only a small door which can only half opened. There is NO front desk, NOBODY answers your phone even you called thousands of times. Hands prints and cracks are all over the wall. Dirt is on almost everything. There is a kitchen but there's NO desks. If you want to use your computers or write something, give up then. There is wifi in the building, but it needs password to login. I called the number for the password on Google maps, nobody answered. There is NO cleaning service, which means they will NOT replace the towels during your stay. The only star is for the location.

Great location. Just smells like WEED the minute you check in. Ownership and management are non responsive to issues.
