The food was great! the beer was great! Beware if you order a "full" it is huge like 40oz or better. My only small gripe is my girlfriend and I shared our dinner and both had a drink it was nearly $60 but we got our food in maybe 5mins. So maybe that's not bad you decide. Anyways I'd go back it's a cool spot and has good food worth a try.

I've never had German food before but it seemed very authentic. They had live accordion music on Friday night which was a nice touch. I had the lamb shank, it was a lot of food and it tasted good but it was a bit over cooked. My wife had a very tasty Schnitzel. We tried the beer paddle (like a sampler) and their Schneider Aventinus was fantastic; I had a half liter. My biggest problem with the meal was the price at the end; for two the total was $87. Definitely not somewhere we would go regularly but a nice place for an birthday or similar event.

This restaurant is a pretty authentic experience of what you'd receive in Germany and Austria; or Europe in general which means:
Do not go here if you're wanting to just eat and get out; you'll be disappointed by what others call slow service. Goto Olive Garden instead if that's what you want.
Do come here if you would want to be sat next to strangers, meet new people, have a few beers, talk and have a generally relaxed and fun evening.
The food is as good as what I've ate in Germany, with the beer seemingly only regional to Bavaria (which Bavaria has the best beers anyways). The service was great and attentive in typical European style. Will eat here again next time I'm in Boise!

What can I say?
I stopped by Schnitzel Garten on my way to another restaurant and thought I would try something different. I’m so glad I did! I was expecting to walk into a typical run-of-the-mill restaurant, sit at a table quietly, and eat mediocre food and drink mediocre drinks.
The food was amazing! I haven’t had good German food in a long time and this took takes the cake (or in this case the schnitzel) Hats off to Frank (the chef).
The staff and the ownership was amazing! I spent my entire dinner laughing and joking with the Chef (between his orders), his wife, and the owner. It felt like I was relaxing with old friends over great food and drink. I have nothing negative to say about my experience and highly recommend the restaurant. Expect to be welcomed with open arms and a pleasant smile. And the food will not disappoint!
BTW: I never write reviews but just couldn’t resist not spreading the word about Schnitzel Garden.

Yummy German food plus the beers are very big, if you're into that. Lots of noodles, sausage, and other things. Whatever you're into. The service was personal and well above what I expected. You could probably get by without spending a bunch of money, by why would you? Order what your heart wants and have a good time.
