Great first experience with this particular Tuffy Tire & Auto. Brought one of our cars in for their advertised oil & filter change 'special'. 1st impression was good in that they had sufficient parking & the grounds were neat. The waiting room was also pretty orderly. Also a clean bathroom.
I had an appointment scheduled for the work and they seemed busy. However work was done in a reasonable length of time with no issues.
The technician did a brakes, fluids & tire check which I think is good as many people simply forget. He also reminded me of the transmission fluid maintenance schedule.
Staff was friendly & polite... The technician & I talked for a bit & he seemed knowledgeable.
I will return for further service when our vehicles need it.

Been back again this week. Still outstanding service. They did an oil change and a inspection and I know I'm all set for summer. Nice to know they are looking out for me and check out my car each time I come in.
Their last repair is still doing great, and I need nothing else new. Thanks guys!!!! Here is my earlier review: Great service plus a friendly environment. They told me and SHOWED me what was wrong with my car, then gave me a good price and fixed it right. They gave me a coupon from their website without me even asking! I had taken my car to 2 other shops but nobody could fix it. Tuffy was able to get it running great and it's been perfect ever since. Other shops replaced numerous parts but I was still having the same problem - my car would die without warning. Tuffy was able to figure out that I had a sensor problem AND a wiring problem - the wiring problem is what nobody else could figure out. It was not allowing the sensor to show up as bad. They fixed the wiring, replaced the sensor and it has been running fine ever since. They told me up front this was going to take a little while, so they gave me a ride with their shuttle service and called to let me know what was going on. Later on they picked me up so I could come back and get my car. They showed me what they had to do to repair the car, and informed me of some other items that would need to be fixed later on. They have a payment plan system that helped out for the sensor so I could spread the cost over a couple of paychecks. Not going to ever go anywhere else but Tuffy!!!!

The initial phone call brought me in, Jim had excellent customer service and did his best when answering my questions. Major points for bringing the customer into the store.
I had my work done on Saturday, I was recommended to bring my car in first thing due to how busy Saturday's tend to be, the waiting wasn't an issue the work had to be done this weekend.
Justin handled my vehicle, and was VERY knowledgeable about every little detail and answered all of my questions I had. I really appreciated his help through my visit there.
I plan to come back and request Justin to work on my vehicle with the other issues I would like to get worked on my vehicle, along with routine oil changes.
The only small issue I had was a fuse blew sometime after installing the new battery, I feel like this could have been checked prior to me leaving with the vehicle, Not a big deal though. Only reason not a 5-star rating.
I considered going across the street to Velasquez prior to going to Tuffy, I'm glad I made the choice of going to Tuffy.

These guys (& gals) are Rockford's (Loves Park) amazing success story. From Jim, the owner to Justin and all the mechanics, to Gina (hope I spelled your name right) at the front desk who writes you up and gives free loaners for major work, THIS IS THE PLACE TO TAKE YOUR CAR! My entire family brings our cars here and if something isn't right, they correct it immediately without additional cost. They have a friendly waiting room, free shuttle to your house or work (within reason) and a great, friendly atmosphere. Try them out.

Extremely unorganized!!! Had my vehicle all day and waited until 5 minuets after they were closed to call me and let me know that they couldn’t figure out a very simple problem. Then when I got there and told them the solution they argued with me and basically stated that they waited until they were closed to call because they didn’t want to do the job in the first place. What a joke of a company!!!
(The problem wasn’t tread life they inspected the tires prior to agreeing to put them on... they couldn’t find a “key” to my lug nuts that don’t have a key. I explained that I have taken the lug nuts off my self with a 19mm socket many times. This is what they argued with me on not the tread life.) funny how a company has to lie to cover there own butt...
