Pep Boys Auto Service & Tire

James and Rey were very helpful in getting my thermostat fixed urgently (even though they were very busy) right before a long road trip. They were polite, friendly and did a great job. I really appreciate their quick and straightforward service.

Awesome staff and service, this place isn't a full size pep boys like most but they make up for it in service, I was in and out and didn't get the run around or told I don't know what I'm talking about like most pep boys, where it's the complete opposite Thank you guys

Stopped here to fix an urgent problem with my cooling system that had me stuck far from home. Was going to try and fix myself, as I noticed they were busy with cars on lifts already, so just asked to borrow a channel lock. Mike behind the counter understood the issue, and insisted I allow them to handle it. His mechanic, James, was able to rectify the problem for me in 10 minutes, and even recommended a specific tool kit in case something similar happens in the future. These two guys are straight shooters, and I'd definitely bring my car to them again.

Tried to get me to pay $2-3000 to have my 2005 grand am fixed. Was told "there's some big problems with your car. It needs some serious work." Oil leak, problem with the struts and new tires were the so called "big problems". It's an old car with over 150 thousand miles on it, most of these things are fairly normal. Had it checked out by Kevin's in St Charles and they said there was really nothing urgent wrong with it. Pep boys is good for a quick oil change while you sit in a nice waiting area, but don't trust them with anything major.
