I know people who have traveled hours from distances I'd consider a jaunt just for a day or afternoon of shopping. However, I can understand why. Even speaking with a coworker recently, new to central Illinois, he expressed interest in the Tuscola Outlet Stores, and made the trip. There's a ton of variety, good deals, everything is accessible, and it's just an overall good place to find almost anything you're looking for.

Love it!!! Not impressed with the Ralph Lauren store outlet. I was looking for sunglasses - and had to go to the Coach outlet... NOTHING at Ralph's... So was very welcomed at Coach. Not only bought sunglasses, but several other items as well. 😁 I will be stopping again during my travels.

Some good stores here. The Christopher & Banks store is a good one. Several empty storefronts, but still worth the trip. The Carter's store has good inventory, but some things would be less expensive at Kohl's! Only 1 kitchen store left. Leggs, Old Navy, Coldwater Creek are pretty good. Close to highway 57 so easy on /off.

I'm breaking from my usually plainly biased view of things to try to give a review here that judges this mall for what it is, rather than my own personal experiences here....I'll explain.
Myself and members of my family are often on Interstate 57, traveling between Chicago and southern Illinois and the outlet malls at exit 212 are a regular stop and, for me, a pain in the butt. There is nothing wrong with them – prices are good (but comparison shop to be sure, it depends on which store you're at and what brands you want, naturally), and the selection of stores is pretty decent. It's well laid-out, there is plenty of parking, and there are free public washrooms that are clean. There's also a fair amount of eateries nearby, though I wish there were a little better selection.
The real problem here is that I don't really care for clothes shopping – it's a necessity, rather than a pleasure, and most of the outlets here are for clothing and most of it is branded too – another thing I couldn't care less about. There's some cooking places, I guess I like the Nike stuff Ok, and there are some other shoe places that are good, but I get the idea that to really love this outlet mall (or maybe, any outlet mall), you have to actually LIKE clothes shopping.
That is where my frustration with this place is from. My wife and my mother both LOVE the place. I in turn, love getting to where I am going in a timely manner. No matter how many times I'm told "it's just going to be a quick stop," I'm pretty much guaranteed to lose an hour of travel time if the decision is made to go here.
So five stars, not for me personally, but because some people who I love and trust that actually like going to a place like this seem to legitimately love it. I can deal with it, my wife goes to plenty of places I like that she doesn't care about, so it certainly evens out, but just the same, speaking just for myself, I'd rather have my teeth pulled.

Wide variety of stores offering very competitive prices. Not many rest rooms and most stores do not have them. VF has a nice one available for customers.
