Van Leeuwen Ice Cream

Awesome place! My family and I....six of us...came here after seeing STOMP. We showed up around 10 PM and it was still very busy. The two guys working there were moving, though, and were all over their game. We waited about 15 minutes to get in but it was well worth the wait. I had the peanut butter marshmallow crunch and it was amazing. My wife had the vegan cookies and cream caramel crunch....also amazing. Our sons had vanilla and chocolate....both awesome. My in-laws had coffee and it was good too. Not much seating in there and it gets crowded when the line forms inside instead of outside on the sidewalk...but it’s all worth it. This place rocks!

One of the best ice cream spots in the city. So many people know the Van Leeuwen name and their scrumptious flavors. I personally love heir pistachio I think it's one of the best there are. This is a perfect after dinner / lunch spot or a place to go when you just want to hang out during a summer day as they have seating available. It's definitely on the premium side for prices but it's definitely worth the trip and price.

I've been coming here for years and it's always a great decision! I love taking visitors here to try the good variety of flavours. Recently tried the black sesame and ash chocolate cake to change things up from my usual pistachio, earl grey, and matcha flavours. Highly recommended! Don't be deterred by the queue!

When a business doesn't accept cash, they alienate poor people, people with bad credit and those with maxed out cards. There are also racial implications, people of color don't use credit cards as much. Customers are put in embarrassing situations after they are handed a cone, take a bite, then are informed that cash is not accepted for their $4 transaction. They also involve banks in the transaction and subject people to paying interest. The clerk says that it prevents theft. My advise to the owners is to get your house in order. Figure out a way to deal with your internal problems without burdening your customer. I will never go back.

Good ice cream. No bathrooms. No cash. Easy to order. Good staff. Try going early in the afternoon to get the featured flavors before they sell out!
