Van Leeuwen Ice Cream

Very good and tasty ice cream. Good portion size. I liked the strawberry especially cause I like it with no chunks. The vanilla was good too. I like that I could sample flavors and actually got a decent amount to sample to actually tell if I like it. Staff was nice. Place was crowded though. It's pretty expensive and small inside. Wish I could stay and eat in but they really need a bigger space. Will definitely come back; just not too often.

Really tiny space, slow service, high prices, and often sold out of the most unique or good flavors... but the ice cream itself (especially the vegan flavors!) is SO good that you can’t not go... I recommend a cup or waffle cone, but do NOT get the cookie sandwich - the chocolate chip cookies are not good (grainy and hard).

Nice Ice cream, not too sweet. Some original flavors (tried Black sesame Dust with chocolate... It was interesting). Huge portions but for a High price. Excelent treatment. They do not accept cash, only cards (2017)!

Had there vegan Planet earth chocolate chip cookie sandwich and it was too sweet for me. I’m a lover of vegan pastries and ice cream,but this was a miss for me. The reason for the 3 star rating is because there are plenty of other options for me to choose from,so I remain open.

This ice cream shop is absolutely delicious, highly recommend. They have classical flavors that are around the whole year, seasonal and vegan flavors. They also have ice cream sandwiches and different toppings for your ice cream. The ice cream is artisanal an the coloring they used is derived from natural flavors. You can find them in various different locations scattered around lower Manhattan. Sometimes they get really packed like on weekends and nights.
