No hard feelings!!! I have been in this apartment for 4 months. I don't have any serious issues here. When I need to call maintenance, they would come within few hours. The only problem is that there had been a gun shot since I moved in. The management, the area and the facilities are all satisfying though. I would recommend people to live here!!
I wouldn't recommend this apartment complex to anyone who is looking for a place to feel safe and secure. I've only been here for two months and my nerves have been worked to the last. There are people fighting constantly, someone drove their car into the courtyard literally right in front of my window, rolled down the windows and opened the doors to blast the music for hours. No consideration for their neighbors. Vehicles are consistently broken into on a regular basis. The recent murder was the last straw! Don't bring your family to this one. Think about it before you sign that lease! This place is also a health hazard. There are water leaks that they just can't seem to get control over. Molded apartments! I will be so excited and happy to walk out of the door for the last time.
We have lived here nearly 6 years. The past year has greatly improved. Security has improved and the staff have been very helpful. We have not experienced a great deal of issues with our apartment either. For an older complex, the units are fairly priced. The staff really do try to resolve problems in a timely fashion. It is close to shopping and highways. All and all not a bad place to live.
Now I only signed a six month lease being again skeptical of the reviews but at the same time hesitant. I moved in in October of 2015 and the original staff even though a little bit slow they were still very cooperative and professional here we are in it is January in 2016 and in that small time there has been to office managers and a handful of different general leasing agents or office personnel. I have not experienced any flooding but on the day I moved in I had electricity and when leaving to pick up another load of boxes I came back and my power was out. Somehow there was a leak in my utility closet which inhabits my water heater and that leak shorted out the entire circuit box I do not understand how it was not fixed prior to me moving in and this is something I addressed and was promised that it would not happen again. Now I've never had any issues with this property until they started hiring new people. There is a particular person or persons in the office who are extremely incompetent and profoundly rude. On top of my being entitled to my credit I have fell on a financial hardship and have been having to make my rental payments in installments with late fees. With good communication it still seems to be a problem and I have been given a notice of non-payment or to quit. Now after speaking with the office and let him know the situation I have to make it a weekly payment of $200. Even after speaking with them and them telling me that if I got my balance down under $200 that I would not be put up for eviction that was on Friday here it is Monday my balance is at $85 and I received a phone call right at the open of business to inform me that unless I could pay the balance today I would be evicted. But i how could I forget the icing on the cake. Two weeks prior of all this happening I went to the rental office to see if the computer services for up and running for tenants. While in the office I also wanted to address the situation of my rental reference credit. While in the office I noticed that there was a change in staff, and that the original manager in leasing officer or no longer employed. So to my confusion I asked about what happened to the previous staff and I was told that they were fired and I was also told that they had quit which was a bit confusing. So after the girl let me know that she didn't know anything about the rental reference credit and that I should probably speak to her manager the manager then told me that I had to be in good standing or be on the property for 90 days to receive my rental credit. This had infuriated me only because I was never told this information and when I was at work at this information be found the new manager told me that I signed a document and it should be in my file. Having only lived here for 3 months I would have remembered such a document and I encourage her that I have never signed such a document. After the police being called and the failure for her to prove of me adhering to such document I still never received my rental credit and two days later I was being notified that I was being sent out for an eviction. Bottom line is these people are unprofessional shady incompetent lazy and clearly under qualified to run a multi-unit dwelling. Even the girl Rebecca told me herself that the owner can not find quality reliable staff to run his establishment. When you hear it from the own horse's mouth you better go with it and run. I would never recommend these apartments to anyone else and I feel so bad that I have recommended it to family we are both on 6 months leases and will be out of here as soon as it's permitted. Do yourself a favor and do not move into any property that has the name village park attached to it!!!!!
Whatever you do DO NOT RENT from this complex. I have lived here for the past year and I can't wait to move. Management does not keep track of payments made for rent. I pre-paid my rent for a year when I moved in and I received a notice on my door stating that i owed them over $1200 for back rent. If you contact maintenance for an issue such as water poor in from the apartment above they DO NOT show up. Even though they are one of the more reasonably priced apartment complexes in Wichita I am not the only one that has had these issues.
I spent 6 months here. My dishwasher constantly stopped working and required maintance to come in several times to fix it. I stopped attempting to wash them in the dishwasher because it never worked. My car was broken in to a few weeks after moving in.. I had a 3 level townhome. The basement floods often because of the terrible drainage design. I lost about 2000$ in equipment and because my renters insurance doesnt have flood damage and the complex said they were not liable for it. The final month I had a partial month but I automatically sent the full months rent. they said that anything extra had to be held until after the final walkthrough. This may be normal but having them hold on to an extra 400$ does not make me happy. I'm so sick of this place. It has left such a bad taste in my mouth.
It's been an awful past 5 months. I moved out of my last apartment because they were raising the rent. This apartment was even more expensive but I chose it anyways because it was close to Wichita State and had all these nice things like a fitness center and pool. Then within a month of moving in, someone was shot downstairs from me. And we have tried to get our door fixed 3 times and when they finally put a new lock on it, they only gave me and my adult roommate 1 key. To share. As 2 adults who work completely opposite schedules. Then wanted me to give them my copy of the key as if they didn't have the second copy to make a third copy. And we have had to call twice now to get our AC fixed. AND the windows leak air so my electric bill is sky high. So no. Don't move in here. It's awful. And the worst thing is, the management looks so sweet and nice. And so I feel bad about yelling at them. But they don't do crap.
One of the worst rental places of Wichita, KS. I moved out about 2 months ago but I don't get my deposit back. I called few times but they don't care, I'm sick and tired of their ill response. The management changes every few months. The manager I believe Ani has very bad attitude - look like she is sick and drug addicted. They don't answer phone and never call back. I don't want any body trap of their sweet talk. I talked again today - they told me it takes 8 - 16 weeks to get deposit - Is there any place in the earth have that policy - they just swallow my money.
Had to call management at least three times to get someone to come out and fix anything, the worst was when our ceiling collapsed into our shower, two weeks later they came out and the only work that they did was make the hole bigger and then didn't see anyone else for a month. Because of the hole in the ceiling and the other issues that it brought with it we decided to move out and 4 months later we got a bill for $840.00. I have never lived anywhere that cares less about their tenants.
The staff is GREAT! From the office to the maintenance crew, they are very good kind hearted people who are always welcoming and smiling, and the whole winning free rent Is TRUE! I have won TWICE!!! My area of the building is GreAt, just hard working families who are trying to do good, The building has its flaws like any other older building, leaks on sinks, but they fix it when you tell them, I love waking up and opening my balcony door to see the sun rise and let fresh air in. I want to give them 5 stars but I would be lying, so 4 is GOOD, again staff is GREAT all around. Tenants in my building and area as well no issues, thus far , home is were the HEART IS My heart is with Christ our Lord, so I feel at home always.
