Weir Farm National Historic Site

Great place to get out and stretch your legs. Beautiful place especially in the Spring and Fall time. Our kids loved this place and the openness of it. The visitor center is nice and quaint.

This is a beautiful site, with a short mile or so hike around a small pond available. They offer watercolor acitvities in the visitor center for those interested, and all around are budding artists taking advantage of the landscape -- since that's part of what this park does, helping develop emerging artists with a residence program. As you walk around the property, you'll find bison sillouettes with American Impressionist Julian Wier's (for whom the farm is name for) work, showing that exact spot your standing in, in his perspective. It's like an art time machine. It's definitely worth it to take a 5 minute visit to the visitor center to catch up on the history of this place.

What a magnificent Planet Earth and Weir Farm historic grounds are a real time testimony of its beauty. I am so totally lucky to have had the opportunity to explore these grounds. A must visit! Bring a picnic...

This is a beautiful place to visit. It is a historic site, one of only two National Park Service sites dedicated to an individual artist. The vintage buildings ( the homestead, the art studios and other assorted outbuildings) along with beautifully landscaped grounds and fields and woods, make this a wonderful place to relax, reflect and be inspired.
