Wanted to eat authentic Filipino food. These weren't it. This were supposed to be bicol express and pork sisig. I have never seen yellow bicol express or sisig ingredients cut like menudo size. These aren't Filipino food anymore. Not sure what they are.Food: 1/5
My husband and I could not decide what we we wanted to have for dinner. My husband wanted a burger, I wanted pancit. We settled for pancit. I am so glad we checked this place out. We did not know such a gem existed 7 minutes away from where we live. Every dish was delicious. The fish was outstanding!!! My husband has never had Filipino food before, and he was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was. The place is clean, had a nice romantic feel to it, and the service was superb. We will be back soon. THANK YOU!!!
So few hours ago i ordered "papaitan" in store and waited for 20 minutes before the lady receptionist took my order. Then when i came home with excitement and thinking that the food i got is delicious ,transferred to serving bowl and was so disappointed it smells like garbage, and you can barely see meat because it looks like the meat was just leftover and added some water in it to make it look like a fresh new cook, In short "tasteless, not delicious for 17$. My gosh i wasted money and would never ever come back in thisr restaurant AGAIN!!!
Currently waiting now for more than an hour to get our food. Only 2 things came from all that we ordered 4 different dishes, not a lot at all for a 4 people. Bad bad service, not worth of your time and money. Had to ask for water after being seated 15-20 mins. I’ve never seen a restaurant and service this bad in the whole Chicago area. This doesn’t deserve to be operating.
I only have good things to say about this restaurant. I called them to see if they can accommodate us last minute for my mom's surprise dinner. The manager, Tito Winston, was very nice! He suggested what we should order and how we should set it up he offered singing Happy Birthday when my mom comes in The party went better than I thought! Although there were 2 other parties, they still set-up my mom's banner and balloons. The food was amazing!! The crispy pata was very krispy. My favorite was the bangus sisig! I highly recommend their dishes! They were so busy but the staff and the manager still ensured that everything was okay and we had everything we needed! They lit the candles for my mom and they sang happy birthday again. The vibes of the restaurant was really nice! They had live music and I thought it was really nice and unique. My only recommendation is that I wish they would expand!! They deserve a bigger restaurant with more customers! Nevertheless, their service was above and beyond and I will definitely come back!!
Before my partner and I went to dinner, I double checked as to what time they close since it’s a Sunday. I called them ahead of time and I was told it was 8:30 pm. We arrived at 7:15 pm. When my partner and I arrived for dinner, we took our seats and the QR code for the menu wasn’t scanning on our table. I thought it was something minor so I let it go. We ordered the following: large misua soup, bulalo, and beef steak. 5 minutes later, server is asking what type of topping to put on the misua soup. That was a red flag. Server should’ve asked this in the first place at the time we placed our orders. I asked the server to refill the water and she placed the pitcher on the table instead. Another red flag. Throughout this whole ordeal I asked the server if this is a new management..and she said it was. They’ve been in the business for over a year. It’s almost 8:00 pm and not sure if it was the owner, but she walked to the kitchen we’re seated right next to it and said how come they us still don’t have any food? The chef said in Tagalog they didn’t have the ingredients and they don’t have it available and waved his hand at me with a smile on his face…as if I didn’t understand Tagalog. My partner and I stood up and left the place with disgust. I said if you don’t have the stuff we ordered, what are we doing here waiting this whole time??? So my question is…how were they going to make the 3 dishes I ordered for? The broth itself bulalo takes over an hour to soften the meat. It’s clearly a new management now and it’s literally NIGHT AND DAY. I was extremely embarrassed because my partner who is not Filipino wants to try Filipino food and this is not a great example at all. I would’ve never visited this establishment if I knew it was going to be like this and was under a new management. The previous owners were NEVER like this!!! The new management clearly has no experience when it comes to customer service or proper basic manners. I feel like they have no experience in the business field whatsoever. It’s like watching that show Kitchen Nightmares with Gordon Ramsay. My biggest advice: SAVE YOUR MONEY AND AVOID THIS PLACE.
I placed an order over the phone here and the woman that took my order said it would take 30 minutes for the food to be ready. I got there after bit later than 30 minutes and was just standing at the register waiting for someone to help me pick up my order. After a while of standing around, I see the woman who answered the phone earlier helping another customer who is visibly irritated about waiting for her order. After about 15 minutes of waiting around I finally get told that my food hasn’t even been made yet and that it would take another 30 maybe even 40 minutes to make because the kitchen was “behind”. She even proceeded to switch the open sign on the door to closed. At that point I had just about had enough and didn’t even want the food anymore, and based on some of the other reviews about the food I am glad I went elsewhere to eat. I even checked out a container of cookies on their display shelf and there was a tiny bug crawling around the lid.
This place used to be one of my favorite Filipino Restaurants. Unfortunately, it was sold recently to a new owner, and everything changed. A month ago, I visited the place and the tables were filthy. The place is dirty and it looked like it hasn’t been cleaned for days. So I decided to take my order to go.The owner recommended that I order bbq liempo. When my order came, she gave me lechon kawali instead. I told her that the food she gave me was wrong. I really dont understand how she can get my order wrong, if she was the one who recommended it. Also, when I got home, the food was disgusting and it literally looks like left overs. I was extremely annoyed and disappointed. Guys, please save your time and money. Do not go to this place because the owner does not know what she’s doing. The food is no longer good, the service sucks, and the food is annoyingly disgusting.
Been there twice. Got the chicken and pork adobo and love them both. I’ll give the slight edge to chicken, but the pork is really tender and the sauce on them is amazing. I hope to come back and try the whitefish. The service is also some of the best I’ve ever had. Love the music and staff. Please check this place out. I would like to add that we came in one time a little late, about 30 minutes until the kitchen closed but they were open for another hour after; either way, they were still kind and everything came out perfectly. We apologize for being “those guys” but appreciated our time there.
This place is a little far from us, but we were in the area and we are so glad we got to try it. We will definitely be back, a lot, despite the long drive. It is worth it!!Everything was so amazing!! The atmosphere was cozy, fun, and inviting. They do use the qr code menu, and our phones are too old for that, so the owner let us use his, he is so nice and funny, all the staff was super friendly. The food, as always, we ordered way too much and had a lot of leftovers, but can't wait to eat those. The milkfish dish was my favorite, but honestly too hard to pick. We had that and the barbecue pork skewers and soup as an appetizer, Brian got the oxtail dish, and I got the crispy pork, a whole shoulder, and the squash with shrimp, and dessert. By far the best Phillipino restaurant we've eaten at, and probably one of the best restaurants overall. You definitely need to check this place out!
