My grandparents rented a space from the owners father in 1979 and stayed there until my grandmother died in 2014 pancreatic cancer. My mom purchased a trailer around 2003 and the owner did nothing but harass my mom my mom is a difficult lady but means well, and when my house was being built I stayed at the site there was tons of other year round campers and was harassed endlessly I had two small kids and my husband with golf cart drive bys, threats, glares, unkind words etc. It was very disappointing because for years being there I never had a bad word to say about her and always tried to defend her when people would say such horrendous things. The campground is outdated, the water is NOT safe, the washrooms I always used my camper are disgusting and when she has been unprofessional hides behind her "christian" beliefs. It's time for her to retire and sell the property. Go to Florida.
Super quiet campground located at Keystone state park. The only negative is that the water is not drinkable. The sediments stained our ceramic toilet and shower brown. We couldn't even give the water to our dogs, else they'd get sick. We had to get the five gallon jugs from Walmart for all of us to drink. We could use the "tap" water for showers and dishes and laundry but even then, we didn't like it. The monthly rate wasn't too bad at all considering the water problem. Electric, sewer and water were all inclusive. The park owners were very kind. And the park kitties were super cute! Lots of beautiful wildlife around, too: groundhogs, pheasants, deer, raccoons and bears! Close to Latrobe about 15 minutes.
Was very nice and very quite. Recommend to stay and would stay there again.
Not a true campsite! Very open. Loud and rude customer service. There is little to no privacy and campers are treated with disrespect by the owners. I've never experienced such horrific customer service in my life. Unless you want to be spied on during your stay, go elsewhere. They enjoy taking reservations and trying to move.people in and out quickly to keep their money or to get more money in. Little to no shade, must walk or drive to lake. Owners are often witnessed looking insider resident RVs from the outside and or making up stories. Bathrooms smell like sewage and are gross. I DO NOT recommend. RUN AWAY if you seem privacy
Great campground very clean and safe. Ran by great people. Great campers everybody keeps to themselves and our friendly. Don't drive over 5 mph kids play there. Strictly enforced. Good thing all the campers are kept nice and clean. Grounds are kept up. They have nice events on weekends. You can meet some great people and great friends up here. Not a long drive from the city. Super close to the lake.
Awesome stay! We just purchased our first RV and stayed here on our way home. They were so friendly and helpful, even helped us backup for the first time. It was quiet and perfect for our first time. Thank you so much!
Last year was my first year there .owners were very nice and met some very friendly people
We spent a long weekend at this campground in mid September. I was concerned by the negative reviews about the owners being mean, etc. but I didn't find that to be the case in my experience. We were treated fine. That said, this is not really a 'campground', it is more of a trailer park...90% of the sites are permanent and sadly a lot of them aren't maintained and makes the campground look trashy. They put us on a site that had rocks, holes, big holes, very uneven and not a lick of shade in sight. There was trash in the firepit and no wood for purchase the entire time we were there. Granted, this was close to off season so I would hope they are more prepared during peak times. Not really a place for kids if you aren't planning on using the lake for entertainment. Nice bike riding as it is so quiet and a really small playground area that seems like it is set up in someone's site, but I think it was a play area? I didn't use the Bath House, but my husband said it was grimy. This is in a very nice area, very close to Keystone Lake and State Park, next time I will stay in the State Park.
Zero Stars!! Horrible place!! Owners are SO RUDE and NOT welcoming AT ALL! We went to visit our family who were staying there for the weekend and it was constant stress. The site is very rundown and not well kept. NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY!! Kids are basically not allowed to have ANY FUN, they got yelled at for playing with a ball at the playground! We went to the State Park up the street and had a wonderful time at the lake! We didn't let the owners or campground ruin our good time even when we were on the grounds, we had a blast but the place and owners didn't contribute to that one bit!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!
We went to visit family at this campground and it was a terrible experience from the moment we arrived until we left. While I have a laundry list of how bad it was I will spare the details and just say that the owners are not friendly, are rude and look for things to complain about. If you haven't been going there for years or if you have children with you, I promise you will not feel welcomed at all. My family and I have vowed to never step foot there again.
