We initially booked this spot because we needed a place to get some shipments delivered - it had a beach, looked like an OK place to kill some time. And then we arrived, and we enjoyed it so much we ended up staying longer. The park is cozy. Plenty of sites, but well spread out so it doesn't feel crowded. The freshly upgraded water hook-ups were a nice touch! The grounds were very well landscaped, and very well kept. Was nice to see and chat with the friendly staff looking after the yard. They clearly enjoy their jobs & take a lot of pride in them - it shows! And then there's the beach. Wow. It was a very short walk from our site. Nice sand, big waves - saw a few people surfing, was a bit cold for us though. Overall, we loved our stay here. I don't have anything negative to say.
I can't say enough nice things about this place! We had an ocean view tent space that was roomy and felt private enough. The staff is super friendly and all public areas are clean and comfortable. The beach is clean and not super busy. There is a rocky point with easy access to walk up and see tne tide pools and sea critters. I'm not an RV camper so I can't speak to that experience, but tent camping on the beach, though a little pricey, was phenomenal.
The service couldn't have been better! Thank you, Virgil! We stayed with our truck and pop-up tent in early November and stayed just one night to visit a friend nearby. I thought the price of $52 was very fair. It felt safe and secure as the facility buildings had a coded lock. The gem is the beach access. Wow! Even in fall, it was so beautiful. The waves were big and powerful. The coast line is just natural beauty of sand and trees. The indoor and outdoor facilities were very clean and orderly. There are some lovely tent sites with a view of the beach. Every site was well-equipped with water, fire pit, and plug-ins. The sites are very close together so I wouldn't expect much privacy. The showers were private and very clean with no shortage of hot water. A shelf and a light in the shower would have made the experience quicker as I had to leave everything on the ground. There is a light in the room, but the shower curtain blocks it.
Our experience was great. Clean facilities and friendly staff. Located on a private beach with a nice cove. They offer crab traps and you can get your shellfish license at the local fishery. The tent camping site was small and a bit crowded but we were lucky to have amazing families around us.
Recently stayed 2 nights in campsite #1 instead of 3 nights the site is a horrible design and not accommodating for hookups because of the setup. We were unable to utilize the hookups. It made camping very hard for us. We also tried using the showers and the water pressure is a mister and was freezing cold water. The bathrooms were clean but scary at night being in the back of building and the inside lights being on a timer, I was left in the dark using a stall trying to find my way out in the pitch dark. Not a very enjoyable time. The only thing that was nice about your place was the crab pots, we enjoyed that.
For the last couple years we had been going to this rv park. Always experienced hiccups but nothing bad and chalked it up to constant change in front office staff. Last year our family rented 4 cabins and two rv sites. This year we went in person to rent a spot for this Thanksgiving. We only live down the road, but wanted to ensure we got the spot we wanted so we went into the office. Talked with staff and pickked our spot for thanksgiving weekend. We thought all was good. Checked in Thanksgiving only to be told it was for 2023 not this year. We said "we had to pay extra to reserve the spot and now its not open until 2023 there must be a mistake" Instead of the front office person going I am sorry lets see what we can do, it turned into a total blame game of you got an email you should have read it! After the fifth time of the rude customer service, I said enough what can we do. We got a less than average spot but made the best of it. Our dog never left our side as he is from a long line of service dogs and well behaved as many dogs were roaming freely between sites - it did not matter as he is trained not to care. We were in our RV by 10 pm 3 adults. The next morning we wanted to extend our stay only to be told there was a block on our account. I said what does that mean? "You were noisy and your dog was off the leash". No one ever said a word and after 5 times staying there in the past couple years with the same dog we now have a block on our account? Our big family will no longer be staying there and all the friends who come to visit us in Charleston will no longer get a recommendation to stay there either. The corporate chain has lost its small town friendliness. It felt punitative after we brought up the mistake. As I left the office I counted six dogs roamly freely being well behaved and amongst their camp but our account was blocked......hmmmmm
We absolutely love the park, however our last experience was horrible. We stay there 4-5 times a year. We called a month earlier for reservations they said the had one spot left and we could have it. No mention of a fee to hold it as it was the last spot. We drive 3 1/2 hours and when we show up they have moved us into a spot that wouldn’t even house our 35ft trailer. Then they said sorry we have nothing for you. We were stranded in the middle of summer with nowhere to go. Extremely disappointed
One the best parks I've been in. Clean bathrooms and showers. We had site 43 nice big site Very short trail to the beach The staff was friendly and helpful. If we weren't just passing through I would of stayed longer.
Love this Rv park. 3rd time here. Short little walk to beautiful beach, secret cove. Staff are all super friendly, very accommodating. Highly recommend. We will be back!
Beautiful place, very short stroll to the beach, sites with fire pits. 2 of the 4 showers are working & 1 of the 2 washing machines. Sites are kind of small but grassy & clean. Lots of happy kids running around. Nice beach. Unsure if fires on the beach are allowed.
