The treatment was alright, very chaotic. I came for depression. The food is great. I tried use the phone but it was covered in urine ew Sarah peed on it. I then had to take unnecessary abuse from Sarah another patient who is at least 17+ years older then me and threatened to $&@#% my brains out. Very rude patients. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Awful and uncompassionate treatment from nurses during a time of a loved one passing away at the skilled nursing center. They never checked on the patient but our family was blantantly harassed by the staff while we all were grieving. The disgusting behavior was beyond insensitive. They should be ASHAMED of their behavior. Will be filing a civil complaint.
If there was zero starts I would have put zero! after waiting for over an hour and a half to schedule a COVID-19 Test for travel purposes, they disconnected the phone and did not schedule a test for me. when I contacted the hospital to talk about this the lady over the phone just put me on the waiting line again! absolutely disgusting! I had a guest who was travelling to Canada and had to miss his flight and work due to their disgusting and unprofessional customer service . what a shame!
The staff are wonderful. The doctors are wonderful. My child has Medicaid and I saw absolutely NO difference between her care and the care of others with paid insurance. That all being said, the FOOD is absolutely horrible in the Atrium Dining room, both in quality and in selection. The patient meals were awful as well. I tried to supplement the choices with vending machine items, but those are all salty, sugary, fatty or otherwise non-nutritious. As a member of Arnot Health now, I expect better.
I took my 1 year old son here a few hours ago and I was in and out very quickly. The doctors were patient, polite and even danced for him to keep him calm. They gave us a prescription and sent us on our way. Definitely one of the better hospitals I've been to.
My son was in for mental issues. Requested 3 times for call from the doctor before he released my son, never got that call. 1 week does NOT cure mental illness. This doctor better hope and pray that if something happens at my son's hands, cause he will have met his worst enemy. Not only that, but a family plan was never done, doctor never made ANY kind of contact with the family, before he decided to release my son. If I could give a 0 rating based on that, I would. My son is 18, but he signed the release for the doctor to talk to me, so why couldn't the doctor pick up the phone and call me???
The service here is pretty awful. They treat their detox patients like crap even thought it's supposedly a detox hospital Staff seems to be shocked when patients going through the misery of withdrawal are not behaving like sunshine and lollipops. To be a healthcare professional and get an attitude with someone enduring withdrawal seems so childish and unprofessional to me. I've had several staff members be extremely rude to and dismissive of a loved one. Pathetic really- if you don't want to show kindness to people going through detox, then you probably shouldn't be a nurse in a detox hospital. That being said, a handful of staff members were very kind and accommodating and their kindness could not have been more appreciated. It's a shame more people don't understand how far a little bit of kindness or a smile can go.
The worst. Checked in at 7 last night. It's now 12:21 the next day. Haven't seen a behaviorist yet. The night staff was kind and attentive, but day staff is mean and nasty. The place is filthy. One of the security guards has no business being in a mental health facility. He argues instead of trying to calm the situation.
Don't ever allow your family to go to this facility. My son went in to the BSU for severe depression. When his daughter visited today on Father's Day she was not allowed to hug her Dad .He is not a prisoner.Didnt commit a crime.Works for a living ,has good insurance and treated like garbage. They run the unit like a prison in the 1940s.Im working on getting him transferred out of there. Thanks for making him more depressed than when he went in there.Heartless people .You all need a class in empathy and compassion.
St. Joseph's Hospital seems to be administered with all the caring ambiance of a prison. Indeed, visiting prisoners at Elmira Correctional seems easier ! If you need to close the hospital for its costs, I understand. However, their dismissive, obstructive and uncaring attitude towards people trying to visit friends and relatives is offensive. Note: this sad situation doesn't exist at Arnot Hospital itself - it is St. Joe's that is the problem and I fondly recall that it didn't used to be this way.
