I stayed at the Baluleni Safari lodge for 3 days with two other friends and it was amazing! Sky and Nico were our safari guides and they were knowledgeable and skilled at making the safari drives around the private game reserve memorable. They knew the best spots to take us and had interesting insights about every critter and creature that we saw. Additionally, they made the great recommendation of spending a day in Kruger National Park and provided the logistics for a safari ride around the park the whole day. It was one of my favorite parts of our trip and we would not have known about it without their recommendation. The staff at the lodge itself was also amazing. They were SO hospitable in every way, made special meals for my friends with dietary restrictions, and generally catered to any need we may have had. In addition to the excellent service, everyone was so warm, welcoming, and interested to hear about our travels and tell us about theirs. The lodge itself had very nice and safe accommodations. We stayed in one of the tent villas and it was extremely nice, well furnished, and safe from the outside. Additionally, our rooms were cleaned beautifully daily and drinks and snacks were provided at all times including in our in-room fridge. Thank you again to all of the amazing staff and guides at Baluleni, it was such an awesome stay!!
The lodge has been amazingly revamped and has a modern yet cozy African Safari Lodge feeling. The boma is inviting, so is the pool and the in-and outside breakfast and dining area. What sets Baluleni apart though is the affordability without missing anything you want to experience on a safari lodge: morning and evening game drives all big fives there straight from the lodge with experienced guides, paired with boat trips on the nearby river if you wish. The owners, Heike and Andreas offer a variety of packages and make sure you will be in for a treat. As the lodge caters for only 16pax in total, the atmosphere is very intimate, yet highly professional. We will definitely come again! Amazing value for money!! Rooms: Modern with all amenities, even USB chargers Nearby activities: Big Five right around the lodge Food & drinks: Very nice food and good wine selection for everyone's budget
This was our first visit to Kruger Nationalpark and to South Africa and we were very lucky that we stayed at Baluleni Safari Lodge. Heike and her staff made our stay a great experience. The lodge consists of several smaller huts and a main building in which you have your meals together with the other guests. The whole area is beautifully set-up with a nice garden which also attracks impalas and baboons. Our room was cozy, clean, had a good bed and we had a terrasse facing the Olifant River. Each meal we had was great also the ones we packed for the Safaris. We went on two of them. One on the Olifant River and one in the Nationalpark. Both were organized perfectly and Kelvin and Nico, who were driving us on these Safaris, are fun to be with and have a great knowledge of animals. So this is a clear recommendation to book at Baluleni Safari Lodge.
Me and my girlfriend spent 5 days in this lodge and we tried everything the structure has to offer: from the game drive to the boat cruise and the panorama route tour. We would describe baluleni with one single word: passion The passion that Shane showed us when we found a leopard on our last game drive, the passion nomsa put in every delicious meal she cooked for us, and in the end the passion rihan has every time he tries to communicate with an animal. We really had a deep immersion into the bushes thanks to them! I wasn’t too much into wildlife, but thanks to them I lived 5 amazing and unforgettable days and now I watch nat geo at least twice a week!! We wish all the best to Rihan, Carla and their crew!
Excellent. Friendly. Superb. Delicious. My wife and I had the privilege of spending a long weekend at Baluleni. We were treated like royalty. The staff are welcoming, friendly, hospitable and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. We had some fantastic game drives with Jan, highly recommended. The highlight were the meals prepared by the extremely talented Tumelo, every meal was tasty homecooked deliciousness. Christina and Heike went above and beyond to care for us during our stay. We will definitely recommend and will be back.
My stay at Baluleni Safari Lodge was one of the best things I did during my "Tour of South Africa" trip! I just happened to stumble upon their lodge when doing some research for my trip, and I am so glad I did! Evert and Elke were both so kind and accommodating, and they went above and beyond to work with me and my extremely tight travel schedule. I stayed in a chalet, and it was perfect and included many thoughtful touches like a stocked refrigerator and complimentary tea, coffee, and cookies. The guides were great for the game rides, and I felt like I really got to know everyone with our family-style meals prepared by a great chef. I highly recommend staying at Baluleni - I will certainly be staying again on my next trip to South Africa!
Always worth a visit. Great African safari experience with great wildlife in this unfenced lodge. we will definitely come back.Rooms: 5/5
We absolutely loved being here. Elke and her husband made us feel like family. The accommodations were nice, we stayed in one of the tents, and some of our friends stayed in the villas. You have no fence surrounding the lodge so the animals at times venture near your room. If staying try and get one of the villas by the river, as you have a good chance of seeing some of the wildlife. At night you gather around the boma for dinner and the food is excellent. As far as the Safari is concerned the guides are very good, and go above and beyond to try and find as many animals as they can. We loved our stay here and will definitely return.
This was really unforgettable experience. In spite of being unfenced property, there is all comfort of civilised world. Chefe was arranging some very creative meals. There are lot of animals around too. Highly recommended!!Rooms: 5/5
Christina and her staff are very friendly and go an extra mile to make sure your stay is comfortable and you're having the best time. The food prepared by Nomsa and Tumelo and their team is delicious.Rooms: 5/5
