Description

Situated in the Southern section of the 10 000ha Nambiti Private Game Reserve in KwaZulu Natal, Cheetah Ridge Lodge provides fully-catered accommodation in 10 luxury suites overlooking a private watering hole, as well as a beautiful family suite, sleeping up to 6 people.

Midway between Durban and Johannesburg, the malaria-free Nambiti Reserve is home to the Big 5, as well a wide variety of bird and wildlife, which guests get to experience in daily drives on our private game vehicles.

Cheetah Ridge Lodge was originally built in 1942 and served as a farmhouse, but is now a superior-rated guest lodge, holding a particular historical charm, matched by no other on the reserve.

An array of animals including Giraffe, Impala, Zebra, Elephants, Wildebeest, Warthog and even the odd Lion have been known to make an appearance at the private dam.

The Lodge boasts:
- 10 unique luxurious suites with private viewing decks overlooking the Cheetah Ridge dam
- A family suite sleeping up to 6 guests in the main lodge
- A private deck underneath a magnificent 112-year old Wild Fig Tree

Unbelievable experience. They make you feel welcome and put your priorities first throughout your entire stay. From beginning to end the customer service is extraordinary. The game drive guides are excellent. The food is fantastic and the service is extraordinary. I have been here three times and can not imagine returning to any place else for a game drive.
Magical. The experience of a lifetime. From start to finish it was perfection. The staff is wonderful- so accommodating and friendly. The reserve is so peaceful and relaxing, the drives in the morning and evening were unforgettable, the spa was heavenly, the food delicious and the rooms were lovely and restful. Our guide, Lebohang, is truly amazing. He grew up in the area and knows the reserve and the animals so well. I couldn't believe how he could spot an animal WAY before anyone else even if it was camouflaged in the trees or rocks and from a distance. To see a rhinoceros grazing in the grass and a giraffe eating the top of a tree is something I will never forget. I'd give Cheetah Ridge a hundred stars if I could but I'll have to settle for the five allowed.
Never felt more welcome in any hotel! Staff was amazing in every aspect, superb. Rooms were nice, problems were solvend during the campdrive so we didn't see the staff doing it. Food was amazing and on a 5 star level. Marte-Lize was an amazing guideand made all every camp drive a great experience
The service was exceptional from when were picked up by Marte-Lize , she's an amazing guide and has makes guests feel special. The staff there regularly check up on their guests and ensure the rooms are always tidy. Kudos to Marte- the best guide ever. The food is out of this world, different menu daily which we've never had anywhere before. I would go back there anytime
We had the most incredible 3 night stay here 2 weeks ago. From the minute we arrived we knew we were going to love it here! We were greeted with warm towels to freshen up after our trip & some yummy welcome drinks. Jamie was an amazing hostess! Beautiful restaurant/dining areas with amazing food. We loved the variety! Our room was beautiful with the most beautiful bath with a view. The Game Drives were definitely our highlight, our guide Gerry was amazing! So friendly and basically a walking talking encyclopedia with a great sense of humour He made those early morning wake up calls for the game drives so worth it. We were lucky enough to see lions, elephants, giraffe, rhinos, zebra, buck and the list goes on! and finally a cheetah on our last day as we were leaving! I could write a millions reasons why you should stay here - it was a life changing experience and we are already planning our next visit soon!
Food 10/10 room 10/10 hospitality 10/10 animal sights 10/10 Couldn't have asked for a better week long honeymoon getaway other than cheetah ridge loved every single minute. The staff don't make you feel as if your are another number they care about who you are where you come from. They all greet you by name you are just made to feel welcome. Our field guide Gerry was just simply awesome full of knowledge for both animal life and bird life. Simply put if your thinking about visiting cheetah ridge. Stop thinking and just do it you won't regret it.
I had a fantastic time here. The early and evening game drives were definitely the highlight of my stay. The family room was very clean on arrival and the hot towels provided at the entrance was great after a long drive. The service is excellent and the staff are all very friendly. The on site spa was another favourite. The provided meals were delicious and varied each day. The pool was cold during our visit but very clean. Overall, I had an amazing time and would love to come back. The lodge really lives up to it's awarded stars.

What an absolutely amazing honeymoon experience! Everyday that we were there, we were treated so wonderfully by the staff, the food was exceptional, and the game drives were magical with our lovely guide, Themba. Stunning accommodation, brilliant service and a beautiful environment to rest in.Rooms: 5/5
From the moment you arrive to your departure, you will be forgiven for thinking that they mistook you for some dignitary. You are treated like royalty. The staff from the Gardner to the Manager are warm friendly and oh so eager to serve you. The Game Drives are unforgettable experiences. Our guide Ryan was simply the best bit of bias here. All the guides work in concert to ensure every guest has a viewing of all sightings. They are constantly in radio contact. Ryan our guide was, infectiously full of knowledge and enthusiasm. His work is his love. He has this unique ability of being a guest and the guide. Sharing knowledge, exchanging knowledge and making your safari an experience. The lodge is luxuriously rustic. Simple in its design, blending the landscape and purpose into a beautiful architectural feat. The service was beyond my wildest expectation. From your room being tidied after your morning safari, to your beds being turned down for the night with chocolates on your pillows and your towels folded into figures of animals is just that attention to detail, that contributes to the beauty of the place. The food is gourmet, from breakfasts to lunches to supper. Not a buffet thank you very much, but an ala cart meal of your choice at every meal time. I could go on, but you must experience it to appreciate it. Cheetah Ridge is a gem of a place, that even the everyday South African can afford at least once. Thank you Cheetah Ridge, I will be a return visitor often I might add
