Arrived at casualty at 19:45 with a 11 yr old that was bumped. No triage to assess the young girl until 1h15 later!!! Just shocking. Want to know how does HIS reduce patient waiting time when the nurses at the desk is incompetent, and tells the mother that she must calm down then she will deal with her. How the f... can u calm down when ur daughter is laying on a bed, in pain and not being attended toooo is ask u
No star needed, this place is a dump. No respect or caring for the people that are in need. I rushed my dad to this place i call hell as he was having a heart attack. My dad passed away on the 3rd day of waiting for a doctor Cardiologist to come and see him. In his last few hours he was then attended too but i guess too late. The nurses are rude and no compassion for the sick. WARD 14 is disgusting and those nurses should not be there our tax money is going to nurses and doctors that dont give a dam. Until one of their family members are there then maybe they will start caring. What a disgrace.....
I had an emergency ceasar at Baragwanath. The team was brilliant and I dont regret a thing. The ward was clean , beds were clean. The nurses in highcare was amazing. The nurses in the after birth ward werent really very nice , they also spoke in thier own language , we wernt able to understand therefore i hadnt even knew they had mill for my baby. Other than that the team who did my ceasar was an amazing team big big ups to them
It would really be great if the staff were more helpful and friendly and there was a better system in place and everyone works together not against each other and honestly a system that is faster by the pharmacy
The nurses and doctors are fine, what’s a mess is the whole system of this place! 1. Navigating to find parking is chaotic. You’ll drive up and down each and every car filled alley struggling to find where to go. When you do eventually find parking it will be a good 500m - 700m away from where you need to get to, therefore elderly, disabled, or people that can’t walk far will struggle. Not to mention it’s just in some field that doesn’t particularly look safe. There zero signs outside to direct you where to go. 2. When you eventually get to the main building, the information signs are completely misleading, you’ll wonder around that maze of a place until you find what you need, if you find it. The information desk is completely useless, giving out incorrect information and procedure. 3. The receptionists or admin workers that " assist " you in the different departments are a joke. These are not the people with medical backgrounds but want to act important. Even with a referral for whatever test you want to do they will still send you to go through casualties to see a doctor which will be a good few hours wait. From there you’ll be sent to collect various paperwork from different places UNNECESSARY , then sent back to wherever you need to go, only to wait a couple more hours to be seen. You’ll easily spend the day there without getting what you needed done. 4. There is no order, line system, or sense of urgency. The citizens are suffering, and waiting in that place, that also poses a hazard to picking up some or other new infection. It’s overwhelmingly full and the nurses and doctors are working under pressure. Big respect to the medical staff, the admin and reception people can be thrown away. Especially X-rays department admin.
I went in at Bara 6 June 2022 for a emergency with extreme blood loss with a stomach problem. I was admitted and treated with the best care anybody could ask for. I had x rays CT scans blood works ultra scan I was there for ten days. Doctors and Nurses saved my life. God bless Baragwanath hospital and its staff. Elizabeth Sidnell ward 4
Clearly EMERGENCY is a bad word for these people. We sat 3 hours in EMERGENCY, with severe chest pains and a referral letter from our doctor, before finally being called for an ECG. Then waited another hour before vitals was taken. Then told that we should go to SEU Surgical EMERGENCY Unit, where another 2 hours was waited for a doctor to see my husband. The doctor was not there for more than 1 hour before he finally returned to see his patients. Clearly, patients die from the waiting alone
I was assisted promptly and professionally. It's a huge academic hospital therfore any kind of specialist is there.
The nurse’s at the maternity ward are so unkind, they can’t even answer phone properly they so rude. The government is hiring people in their highest level of incompetence. I won’t recommend people to go there for labour, even my brothers daughter died there, now they repeating their rudeness.
We have come to expect public institutions to be in such deplorable conditions. Think this mentality runs through deep. Something can be done starting with maintenance of the surroundings. With better surroundings this may boost feel good effect on staff and patients.
