I got there at about 2 o'clock. We were told to sit outside parking lot while my daughter was being attended to. 6 and a half hours later we left after I told them its ridiculous to wait that long. Suddenly it was decided that she had an anxiety attack and was fine to go home. In that whole time we had no feedback from any of the staff. Every time we asked for feedback it was the generic "we are working on it" answer. Another lady, who came in a hour later than us, were still sitting inside without her vitals even been checked. She passed out twice while she was still sitting outside with the rest of us. She later moved inside. Avoid this place at all costs!
We attended Montana Hospital today and were very impressed with the service. Security, Reception, Ward One and Cathlab all provided efficient service with a positive attitude and friendly smiles! Parking was a breeze and the food at the cafeteria was hot and tasty and exactly as ordered. Our minds were set ease while hubby was undergoing an unkwown procedure and we were treated in a professional manner. Well done!
Parking close to the entrance is limited. However there is ample parking across the road and if you are not accompanying a patient it is not bad at all. The reception area however is always unattended. I've been there 4 times in the past month and there is no one stationing the reception desk so if you are not sure where the patient is that you are visiting its a little confusing. The pharmacy service at clicks is veeeeeery poor. At one point I waited close to 50minutes for assistance.
My dad passed away while under the care of Dr Bare. He was at Montana Netcare for 19 days and we never once met Dr Bare. She requested we come to the hospital but only spoke to us over the phone once. We were never updated about his progress, what he was being treated for or why he was still in hospital. If not for the kind nurses and excellent service of the speech and swallow therapist, we would not have known anything about his condition. He passed away during what should have been a simple procedure. We are now only receiving reports that show very concerning findings that should definitely have been communicated to us before he underwent what was ultimately his final procedure. We were informed of his death by an unrelated nurse because none of the attending doctors were available at the time.
Dr. Yvonne Bare is a very charismatic and pleasant person, however, not a well qualified physician at all. She never gives feedback and likes to run all kinds of tests and forces a patient to stay in hospital the moment one starts complaining. She only treats a patient symptomaticaly. The previous time my mother was in hospital Dr. Bare discharged her whilst still being ill. Another doctor had to immediately admit her in Moot hospital and diagnosed my mother with Lupis and said that she was severely dehydrated coming from a hospital and that she would have died if we haven't brought her in. Montana Hospital management is not interested to listen to any complaint and maintains that they are unable to do anything regarding a doctor as the doctors are private. Funny that a hospital can allow a doctor to utilize their facility without taking any form of responsibility.
My granddad was admitted in the icu. A doctor never came to see him. He was put on dialysis and under sedation for 3 days. After being transferred to another hospital turns out he did not even need dialysis and the medication they had him on made him much sicker than he was. After seeing a doctor at the new hospital they told us all that was wrong with him was severe dehidration. We are very blessed to have been able to transfer him. Please be ware of this hospital and its less than poor service.
I was admitted on Monday for a total hip replacement surgery, the treatment that we got from entering the hospital until I was released was axceptional, from the nursing staff day and night duty I was treated very well the staff knew what to do when it was n very good experience. Dr Sprong and all the theater personnel thanks for a job well done. Management I was in ward one and you can give the people there a nice pay hike even the kitchen personnel I had no complains about the food. Worst hospital ever! Absolutely no service. There was blood on the cabinet and puke against the wall. Never cleaned until I asked them to do it. The ward smells like pee, bathroom not cleaned until I asked. Sheets weren't changed UNTIL I ASKED. Worst service, patient had a allergic reaction, didn't notice until I let the doctor know the patient's face is red. Then they gave medication for the allergic reaction. Don't come to this hospital. Can't complain about the sevice, because there is NONE. The bed fell with the patient in it, no one came until I called. They didn't apologize, only changed the beds. SAVE YOURSELF THE DRAMA. Worst trauma centre ever! I will not recommend this hospital too any one! We waited 5 hours just to get stitches we eventually left because the One Docter kristen spoke to me if i were a todler we stood up and left. We were assisted immediately at Eugene marais hospital best service and staff I would recommend them all the way! Montana had enough beds since the trauma unit was revamped with more beds but one lazy doctor. Upon my arrival I was bleeding so bad the nurses did even bother to give me some gass my husband needed too go and fetch me some handtowl paper to stop my bleeding. To think we pay so much for a service but we did not even get a service just rude and educated staff. I think if I went to Steve biko I would have been assisted much quicker. Such a shame this used to be a great hospital! So people if you want service dont ever make use of montana hospital they are rude and not able to assist in a trauma situation. I would have rated a 0 but i cant not post if i dont tick a star. Can you believe the audacity of montana hospital they did not render me a service since we left, they claimed from my medical aid and said they gave me stitches when the other hospital assisted me. This Is pathetic they don't give us a service and then they also steal from your medical aid luckily I checked our claims. Also FYI they charge a R203 ekstra because you did not have an appointment lol who phones a head to make an appointment when you have a trauma situation.
Very disappointed.My 92 yr old father was taken by ambulance to ER Monday morning at 03h00 He was kept in a bed in casualty and when I finally managed to speak to a dr. the next day ie Tuesday at 18h15 I was rudely told the hospital is on divert and they don't have a bed for him.The dr. phoned me spitefully at 23h30 the night just to say he is still looking for a bed to admit him? He was transferred to Moot Netcare @ 04h00 on Wednesday morning and is currently in ICU
