Die Ou Lady Gastehuis

Calvinia is a gem of a town to visit. We received 5-star treatment at Die Ou Lady. Only went there this weekend for an overnight stay, but I’ll definitely plan a next trip to this area.Rooms: 5/5

Apart from an unwanted "crawling guest" in the 1 room, loved the place... Was our stop towards Upington... Very friendly staff and clean place with that personal touch... Huge + for the aircon... And the water pressure of the showers-WOW.... I wish I could have it at home.. LOL... Pity the restaurant area was closed but everyone deserves a break right??

Breakfast at Die Ou Lady guest house in Calvinia : Our waitress was very sweet so service was good. Personally I prefer filter coffee to plunger, but plunger was the only option. We were brought margarine and apricot jam. Butter and marmalade were brought after being requested. Bacon was hard and eggs OK. A side plate should accompany the breakfast for toast and marmalade. When breakfasting with a friend, I don’t want to moan and spoil the event. Hence this review to highlight where in my view, things could have been better.

We arrived on Sun 21st August 2022, heartily welcomed by both Joan & Luzanne, taken to a spotless Annie's room, comfortable and organized we slept very warm & snug and after a restful night enjoyed a fabulous breakfast at the coffee shop. Very friendly staff. Food and coffee is delicious. Have that home/family feeling. Recommend 100%. Rooms: Amazing decor and furniture. Very unique.

Truly worth 5 stars! They were so accommodating and saw to our every need. They provided a coffee plunger at our request and even put on the electric blankets to pre-warm our beds. It was a lovely stay and I will be back

Great coffee and the building is beautiful. Everything is clean and it’s cosy inside. The food is great as as well. My only problem was that the room smelled a bit like mothballs. Everything else was perfect.

Will definitely recommend this as a perfect so over. Warm, friendly staff, our 'room' had everything and more, and we had a delicious breakfast next to a warm fire - perfect for winter! . Recommend dinner next door at the Blue Naartjie - the lamb pie was sublime!

Excellent. Good value for money. Spotlessly clean and equipped with everything needed. Joan made us very welcome and provided information on tourist attractions.
