The owner, Koos du Plessis, who grew up on a farm in the Sutherland Karoo, has returned to the town after an absence of many years. Renovating and upgrading the Sutherland Hotel was a dream which he has made a reality.
The original structure is over 100 years old. All rooms are en-suite and are equipped with wall heaters and electric blankets. Remember, Sutherland usually has snow during the winter and presents a pretty picture for winter visitors.
