Fantastic treatment. Great doctors and nurses. Very caring staff. Came,in as emergency with fractured hip and ankle and was seen right away. Great food congrats to the chef for making the meals so tasty especially the soup. Couldn't have asked for better treatment. Thank you all so much
Ninewells Hospital was opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth & Queen Mother on 23rd October 1974. One of the largest and oldest hospital in Scotland. It is combined with medical studies with University of Dundee. Multiple car parks and Staff car parking facilities. Free parking due to Covid 19. This hospital also have free ATM facility and also have security staff round the clock. Retail shops like WH Smith, Café, Hair Dressers and Sandwich shop at the main entrance. Helpful and approachable staffs. Cold and Hot drinks Vending machines at the entrance. Gift shop and Royal Mail Post Box which is very handy.
I was amazed at the speed, efficiency & level of care that I received at Ninewells. I cannot give enough praise. The Doctors and nurse Kerry dressed my wound and gave me much needed medication without fuss or drama, their kindness & professional attitude reminded me of the fantastic NHS we have in the UK and how it must be protected at all costs. I was referred to Ninewells eye clinic after my optician suspected a retina tear/ retina detachment. The staff are lovely and very caring. The waits are long but the waiting rooms are well kept with comfortable seating. By far the best experience I had at a medical facility. However, there are not enough signs to lead you to the main reception if you're coming from the back of the building. The maps can be confusing and annoying especially if you're already stressed about your health.
Recently took our 5 years old to A&E with the fear she had broken her arm, the children's a&e waiting room was disgusting, used wipes on the floor, sticky chairs... didn't look well maintained. Got sent home without even an xray being done by a Jr Dr because he was happy enough with just feeling her arm. However back up the next morning after a very restless night with her and this time an xray showed a fracture!!! Not only did she come away with a fractured arm but a lovely sickness bug too that she picked up in the hospital!
The worst A&E I have ever visited. They do not prioritise accidents or injuries. Also they treat people base on the ethnicity or race. My wife’s hand got burnt and we went to the hospital around 8pm. They took 4 people inside who came after us and when I questioned it they laughed at me and they blamed me. If you are black or asian do not visit this hospital, they will not treat you properly. It is 9.40 pm and still we are waiting at the queue.
The service is very bad. I have been waiting for 3 hours. My child, 4 years old, is very exhausted. From 4 hours, he vomits. Doctors and nurses laugh inside. Whenever I ask them when is our turn, they say we are very busy. I hope this does not happen again, especially from young children.
Isn’t this the hospital that Dr Vishnavy Laxman works at? Isn’t she the one who ignores the please of pregnant women & forces them to have a natural birth with no signs of labor instead of a c-section. And then ends up decapitating a baby who was not only breached but 25 weeks old?
The amount of ignorance I got there is unbelievable. You can fall unconscious, but probably still have to wait until someone invites you. And most likely they'll just go to the next person because you haven't responded
We wanted to say Thank you for the Ninewells Hospital and specially to Dr. Elizabath Skelly Who was remarkably helpful. We are a famliy from Sri Lanka and our 02 little girls were sick for 10 days. Unable to get appointsments or calls from the local GP and We were forced to go to the A&E unit of Ninewells hospital as one kid was streaming with her earache, Begining from the reception the service was excellent, Particularly DR Elizabath was really helpful and both kids were inspected and gave medicines accordingly. The hospital, Scotland and the world will be shined with the people like you, Thank You
