What a fantastic evening. Every dish was a taste sensation. Sitting at the counter watching the goings on was brilliant. Chef Rigo took the time to chat and tell us all about the dishes and chef life. Our waiter Mini was exceptional. Highly recommended on so many levels.Food: 5/5
Wonderful food. Only the chicken dish was a little salty with the pickles being a little too sour. Other than that 5 out of 5. Faves: Tartar, Seared Tuna and Cauliflower Buns. Thanks to our wonderful waiter Minnie for making us feel so appreciated!Food: 5/5
Not often you get restaurants that actually walks ahead of the talk. This 1 certainly does. Casual and fun dining experience. Every dish was so tasty. I actually ordered extra just incase I didn’t enjoy any, but enjoyed all of it. Amazing vibe, really busy kitchen, all under control though. Service was excellent and fast too. Well done.
This was an unbelievable experience with truly exceptional food. The staff and venue really added to the culinary experience. It's hard to pick a favourite dish, the fish tacos, lamb pot pie, pork belly and beef fillet were out of this world. The flavours were just so perfect. Honestly that's the case for all but a couple dishes we had that I will explain further below. I will just add that I have eaten in Michelin star restuarants in Europe and the quality, barring the exceptions below, are very much comparable. I have not deducted a star for this, but I will comment on some dishes that were a miss: The Lobster was dissapointing, while the flavours surrounding the lobster itself were delicious, they overpowered the lobster itself, which could have been subsitituted or left out without any noticeable impact on the dish. The desserts, the Sorbet and Sweets platter, lacked the same wow that the other courses had. They seemed to be quite generic deserts, lacking real defining flavours. That said, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it.
Great little place for a culinary treat in Cape Town. Pot Luck Club serves tapas style plates that are good for two but a may not meet the needs for four. All the dishes were savory and delight to the eye. We really enjoyed the sashimi, Asian style beef tartare, and line fish, Vegetarian choices were excellent too with the broccoli and cauliflower getting compliments from all. They recommend 8 to 16 selections and we were closer to 16.
Tapa plates for sharing. Tasty and innovative dishes. Get the seared Tuna in Tom Yum soup base, grilled steak with truffle sauce, pork belly in green curry. There are delicious looking vegetarian dishes, too.
We had a large group for a birthday and had a terrific experience. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great views of the setting sun. Nice fit out and exceptionally tasty food. Solid vegetarian and vegan options to boot - thank you! Vegetarian options: Decent options on the menu and some additional variations possible to cater for vegans. Well accommodated and communicated
We’re potluck regulars! Love the food, vibe and service. Always one of our go to options to celebrate a special occasion or a special date night! In love with this restaurant!!Recommended dishesLine Fish Sashimi, Fish Sliders, Seared Tuna, Chickpea Fries
Pot Luck Club is one of my all time favourite restaurants and this was my third visit in the past five years. While I had a great time and some delicious food, I couldn't help feeling that are resting on their laurels. Service was very unimpressive. Slow, uninformative, disinterested. The menu has changed very little over the years and could use a refresh. Limited cocktail and wine list. Wine was delivered to the table warm a R900 bottle of Tokara Grand Reserve. The bread course a lovely roosterbrood was served with very plain olives that could have come directly out of a bulk jar. The special of rock lobster R600+ had very little meat, little seasoning and was overpowered by all the lettuce it was served with. Best dish was probably the glazed tofu which was delicious. Another thing that I did not enjoy was that no menus are provided and so we were forced to peruse the menu on our phones, which is fiddly and takes you out of the moment. Not what I expect at a premium restaurant. I would think twice before returning.
Fun vibe and attentive service. Food was very nice although maybe a bit overrated versus the reviews I've read online. Would give it a 8/10 for flavor as some of the more creative fusion dishes were hit or miss. Still very much worth a visit.Food: 4/5
