Self catering accommodation. Spacious and comfortable. Le Butterfly Cottage and Star Gazer Cottage sleeps 4 privately and 2 in open plan area. 2 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms (showers). Lovely indoor fireplace as well as outdoor braai area that is under cover on a sunny patio. Mountain views. Within 300m distance to the river. Bring your quad bikes, mountain bikes and motorbikes and enjoy rides on our scenic dirt roads. River fishing. Star gazing. Bird watching. Wheelchair friendly. No TV. Nature lovers venue. The Groot Marico Eye is 30 kms away so pack in your scuba/snorkelling gear, Pet friendly for trained pets at an additional fee.

We took a gamble on a place and area we didn't know. Wow, what a great gamble! Lynn and Rob treated us like royalty, as if we were their only guests, which we certainly weren't. We took the camping option and loved the whole setup. Their cottages look well worth a visit. The setting in the valley, wide open spaces, plenty shade, set against the peaceful river was so peaceful and inviting. We'll definitely return. The town itself has character and is worth a visit, especially if there is an event. Next time we'll check out the Marico Oog as well.
We escaped the hustle and the bustle of the city to this unforgettable gem in the Groot Marico area. We planned a family break away to reconnect and recharge and this was the perfect spot. Lynne and Rob are the perfect hosts, friendly and super welcoming. The cabins are very private with beautiful views of the surrounding area. Indoor and our door fire places, patios and private plunge pools. Enjoy a Bon fire under the African skies, take a stroll along the river and recharge your soul in the bush. A definite must visit when you need a well deserved break. Rooms: Comfortable with all the necessary luxuries Walkability: Beautiful surroundings to reconnect with nature, flat and easily accessible
Well equipped beautiful cottage with everything you may need. Lots of detail and care was taken to kit this place out. Outside shower with gorgeous views, fire pit to relax around the bonfire and strolls around the river. Huge stoep with build in braai and natural splash pool Surrounded by green trees and bushveld/grassland. Peaceful private serene. Rooms: Clean, beautiful and well equipped cottage
I can recommend this beautiful guest farm for everyone who wants to recharge their batteries. Rob and Lynnie are the perfect hosts that will make your stay unforgettable. The scenery is breathtaking and all the facilities are well maintained. The rock splash pool provides some needed relief from the heat and the bird feeder provides hours of entertainment while relaxing on the stoep with your feet up. The short walk to the river opens up more opportunities to relax and offers picture perfect views of the Groot Marico river. We will definitely visit again!
The turn-off from the N4, down a somewhat rocky road, will most definitely be rewarded! Lynn and Rob’s property is a true gem. I stayed in the camping area, which has recently been done up and has all facilities one would expect kitchen, hot shower, etc; it is also located next to a picturesque river. On the cold night that I was there, Lynn even brought me down some extra blankets and a pillow, as well as inviting to the fire they were having the evening I passed through. Such kind owners! Would highly recommend the Evergreen River Guest Farm.
No cellphone reception - Perfect! A whole week void of the hustle and bustle and we were forced to become still within and be awed by the beauty around us. Peaceful and quiet waking up each morning to the unique smell of the bushveld. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming and the lodge - self catering - was clean and well equipped with absolutely everything you may need. All was well thought out and painstakingly attention to detail to ensure guests could relax and focus on enjoying the experience. Pets welcome- by arrangement. Roads leading up to the farm was rough and challenging and a bit of a 4x4 trail but worth it. I highly recommend this place for a family vacation or just a weekend breakaway.
A friend and I were at Evergreen Guest Farm from 6 – 10 January 2021. Ah, what a glorious bush getaway with the cleanest air, rich bird life and pristine nature. The river is walking distance from the cottages and it is lovely to spend time along the river. The stars in the night are so bright, it feels like you can touch it. Lynn and Rob's hospitality is unmatched. We'll go back again to feed our souls.
To say I fell in love is an understatement. This bosveld getaway has everything. Of course everything was immaculate and tidy with fresh rosemary sprigs in all the rooms and bathroomsmy favourite. We spent our weekend in Stargazer cottage which absolutely lives up to its name as our evenings were spent next to the fire pit picking out the constellations and the milky way. The river is such a beautiful and tranquil spot that you simply have to take a minute and sit there and relax listening to the stream over the rocks. We also tried our hand at fishingunsuccessfully but that says more about us than the lovely fishing spot. The absolute highlights for me was wandering through the citrus groves snacking on freshly foraged pecan nuts, gooseberries and sweet oranges which Rob and Lynnie generously allowed us to sample. Also so close to many other adventure spots like Marico oog, game drive spots, hiking trails. We will most definitely be back. Thank you for making our stay so special.
Had a great time with my family, will definitely be back to the beautiful Groot Marico area and will definitely be choosing ERGF as my accommodation. Incredibly equipped, beautiful and well managed guest houses. 10/10 always a treatRooms: 5/5
We enjoyed our week stay, we unwind relaxed and just enjoyed the nature around us. Did some bird watching, outings to the riverbank and a hike down the road with our doggies. We soon will visit again.
