False Bay Hospital

I would give them 10 stars if I could. The staff and doctors at False Bay are simply amazing. Landed up in the emergency room and the treatment I got from start to finish was beyond my expectations. They are so caring, helpful, kind and compassionate. Thank you to all the staff, but especially Dr Arendse who is so thorough and so professional.

Don’t waste the nurses time and you will get what you need done. Get there early, have your card ready and you will experience reasonable efficiency based on what the hospital has to work with and empathy. Value for money at R 45 a visit I say.

Took my sister for her appointment at False Bay Hospital today. I have to say I’m really impressed with the good service, efficiency and professionalism. Have not experienced this high standard at any other government hospital. Well done FBH

Brought somebody for an appointment, Arrived 10min early for a pre natal appointment which was booked one month in advance, walked inside to simply ask a simply question , the reason I wanted to ask this question was because we had a mix up with the dates from muizenberg clinic. So I merely just wanted to confirm if today is the correct day for us to be there. “Sister Mondo” the lady full of attitude , sarcasm, playfulness and disregard. Tells me as I walk in “stand outside . Your last stand outside “ - I proceed to take partner outside . I then return and wait to be seen to . Upon being seen to I ask her “ I just wanted to know if we are on for today as we had a mix up with appointments . She tells me she can’t see if I have an appointment I must just wait . When my time comes I’ll know. I said okay but I’m wanting to confirm if my time will come if it’s the correct day so I don’t wait for nothing . She tells me “if it’s not your time then you’ve waited and unfortunately that’s that . “ I mean wow can you believe this . I know service doesn’t matter when it comes to these situations , it’s just a question I was being so polite during this procedure. Decided not to wait and leave . Because someone people aren’t paying Mondi don’t treat them like dogs . We are all human beings try to have a little respect : not much just some decency and respect . I implore you to try . We are new in Fish Hoek and didnt know the hospitals in the area. When you need an emergency unit 12 at night and nobody is answer it is very stressful. False Bay hospital answered the phone and told me to come in with my very sick daughter. They were efficient, caring and looked after her so well. The doc himself put in drip and when you saw my daughter was shaking badly he fetch a blanker for her and wrapped her. The staff and doctors were wonderful and we were very blessed that we ended up there. Great service with what they have. Thank you so much

It was heredous your security made me stand while I was having a seizures I begged the wan.staff to please bring me a wheelchair for 10min the woman at the door security looked at while I begged her... I will be writing to relevant people to mention the abuse I experienced...The triage nurse just as rude..That even thou I had a fit I left due to the Incompetence of FALSE BAY HOSPITAL.....I will appreciate a call back as this is a hospital and you have a duty of care.....I was vomiting and holing onto wall.....I could have injured myself.....With seizures I stumble around so they think I have been drinking.....I am so disappointed.......I will wait for a response

The most horrendous experience of my life - the security is extremely abusive and when you try exercise your rights as a patient you are victimised - absolutely shocking

I just have to give a shout out to stellar customer -patient service from Richard in Ops by the Emergency / Casualty window. He went above and beyond for me today. I can honestly say, if FB hospital was just full of Richard’s, nobody would be wanting or needing private hospital care. Excellent staff member, FB Hospital - see you treat him well! ======================================== With that said and I’m sorry, it won’t allow me to make another review rating, so it’ll be done below: Sister Williams review - Negative 1 star: What an awful attitude this staff member has. She works in the triage section building of the hospital. I have never had to do an Out Patient Booking before, so I had no knowledge on how to go about it, so I asked her for guidance on what I needed to do. She offered no guidance at all, except to say sentences to me like “Lady, how can you not know” and me replying “It’s the first time I’ve done this process” and then her saying speaking so slowly, like she was talking to a two-year old with learning disability. I eventually said “you can excuse me, you are being so incredibly rude to me right now. I am not incompetent, I just don’t know the process because I haven’t done it before”. And I got up an left her triage office. Absolutely disgraceful, disrespectful and disappointing. #all_the_dises Take a long look at yourself Sister Williams. You will give patient care at this hospital a bad name.

A one star shouldn’t even be an option. They gave me a 10:00am appointment. I arrived here 09:30 to be punctual, it's 13:36 and have no idea what in world is going on!?!?!?!?. People who arrived the same time as me, have been called, a lady here that was given a 09:00 appointment is still here too.. Doctors slipping out for lunch..the list goes on... Why do they give a time for an appointment in the first place?!?!? Those of you reading this...be prepared to wait FOREVER!!!

We are trying to visit a family member who is very very ill, and were told that there is no “rotation” for visitors. Each patient can have one visitor per day. This is inhumane!! Our loved one is sick and we drove over an hour to see her, we do not know when or if we will see her again. Shame on you, False Bay hospital
