My 1 year and 10 months baby was very sick . We took him to RMC and they attended to him immediately . The Emergency unit was not so full and my boy got the best care ever from all nurses and doctors immediately . It was his first time ever to be admitted in a hospital - we were in the Pediatric ward for 2 nights and 3 days . We received 3 meals a day with snacks in between , it was really good quality food and clean and tidy environment . With regards to parking , everyone complained about it on the reviews . However , parking was not a problem the hospital has accommodated extra parking inside of their building . I would not hesitate recommending this hospital to anyone . Nurses accommodated Me as a mom brought desks for my admin work and a play chair and table for the little one to play .
My mom was a patient at this hospital in two units coronary care and ICU. Staff were incredible, truly their nursing teams in ICU and the coronary care unit are professional, empathetic, attentive and a joy to be around. They took amazing care of her. One of her doctors was not very kind or professional to my mother but her second doctor was lovely to her. She did not eat the hospital's food for dietary reasons, so I cannot comment on that aspect of service. One thing I would say that the hospital could improve on is cleanliness and modernity of the wards/provate rooms. Despite this detail, we are still incredibly impressed with the patient care at this facility and would recommend.
Rudest and most unprofessional doctor I have ever encountered at Emergency Unit. Doctor was condescending and short tempered towards me throughout the consultation and I was nothing but polite and barely spoke a word. I was in severe pain from a deep finger cut with stitches and asked for an arm sling as a safety precaution as I would be attending a big gathering of 100+ people that evening. The doctor came within in few inches from my face and repeatedly told me that I was being attention seeking. He was completely out of touch, unprofessional and took it as some sort of personal dual. It was confusing, disrespectful and highly unpleasant. He did the whole practice and hospital a tremendous disservice.
My son was admitted on the 4/11/22,as to date he is still here. All the nurses are doing an excellent job. Only problem is that the aircons not working and its extremely hot at night for him. We asked for a fan but got nothing. Otherwise all is good.
What an excellent team, from admin and porters to nursing staff! The experience of the staff, the manner in which they interacted with my wife all epitomizes professionalism. Friendly with that personal touch of care, puts this centre up there with the rest. My other kids were born G.M.C and Newlands surgical, and I can recommend this wonderful centre for sure as their standards are high.
Not very good. My daughter got sick, she was very weak, throwing up and had high fever. I came to this hospital but unless I asked what was happening they left me waiting. They didn't even take her vitals and she was an emergency. When I asked them what's happening, after waiting for a while, they told me that the waiting time would be over 1hr before anyone tends to me. When I asked them why no one told me this, they fumbled over their words and said they were just about to let me know... not very convincing, after I saw them just sitting around doing nothing! I left! Went to Vincent Palotti and within 1hr had already been seen to! Rather just stop at this hospital to ask for directions to the next one, but don't use the services!
Ok in an emergency but definitely not for an elective comparatively speaking to other much better equipped/staffed hospitals. Bit of a low budget hospital in my view so might as well use a better one that is covered by your medical aid. On the plus side they not busy so in an emergency it is definitely the way to go based upon past experiences at this hospital.
I went in on Thursday 8/10/20 and left on Saturday the 10/10/20. The staff in the surgical ward, day and night shift for those days was top notch, I cannot praise these guys more for their absolute amazing service. Ranjit and all the nurses on his team, sister Heynes, sister Milly, sister Akilah I think that's her name and the rest of their day and night teams deserves all the praises. Nursing is a very humble profession and these guys pulls it off like nothing. Thank you from Mrs Jacobs
A huge of word thanks and appreciation to Dr M Ebrahim and his staff of RMC Emergency Unit that atteded to my dad in his time need. My dad had a fall and thought it to be nothing serious. The X-rays showed a fracture, but after further analysis Dr Ebrahim contacted the Orthopedic surgeon Dr Jakoet and discovered that there was nothing minor about the fall. Surgeory was arranged for the following day 29 DECEMBER 2022 and my dads injury was attended to. Things could have been worse had he only been treated for the fracture. Thank you for your swift and collaborative approach. H
I arrived at Rondebosch Medical centre with my 13yr old son at 12am on the 27/07/2022. I received only but the best customer service from the Emergency rooms staff. Their patience and tolerance levels was 10/10! From the Anaethetist right down to the Porters had the best customer care skills. A special Shukran/Thank you to Dr Ebrahim that assisted my son in Trauma. Your patience and calm nature was helpful during such a tense situation. Well done Rondebosch staff!!!
