This is a destination, not just a stop over. Time is needed to explore this stunning place. Kedar Lodge is clearly a labour of love. The indigenous gardens and walkway are beautiful, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and joy. The monuments, sculptures and memorabilia of South African heritage are astounding in the numbers and the care taken to display them at their best. Generosity abounds.. in the comfortable room, excellent service, friendly and helpful staff and plentiful food. Superb cappuccino too. Definitely worth experiencing for yourselves!
The staff are all friendly and willing to go the extra mile for the smallest of requests, with management keeping us up to date and offering support where needed. The overall experience was pleasant and was given a silver lining by means of fabulous food offered on top of stellar customer service. Truly a hidden gem of the North West.Rooms: 5/5
Kedar Heritage Lodge, Conference Centre & Spa Want to just get away for the weekend best place ever, great service, friendly staff Amazing nature and history all in once Situated in the North West Province, just 21km from Sun City, Kedar is built on a portion of Boekenhoutfontein, the historic farm that once belonged to President Paul Kruger. The land around Kedar has been game fenced and is populated with a wide variety of game, including eland, blesbok, impala, bushbuck, nyala, kudu, zebra, blue wildebeest, giraffe and sable – making it a dream destination for nature lovers. Rooms: Great rooms Safety: Very safe to walk explore very friendly staff Food & drinks: Food and drinks was amazing , rooms was good, TV needs some attention and upgrade
For the price payed to stay for one night, would expect a proper restaurant with a proper menu and chef that can actually prepare the food the right way and get a beter quality food supplier. Room was clean towels was old and ripped. My suggestion for this place is drop your rates by half and make it a B&B to make up for what is lost and build it again from there lots of potential.
The place is great, the only thing is little reptiles and spiders in the rooms, the lodge must do more to control that, it is uncormfortable to sleep when you see different spiders and lizzards crawling around the beds especially when you are with kids.Rooms: 3/5
As a big history fan this place captured my love. It's a great place to go to learn about the SA Anglo Boer War HistoryService: 5/5
Hidden gem. Thousands must drive past in the way to Sun City. The largest private collection of Boer War memorablia
It was poor because the place is not clean at all ,the couches at the bar are filthy and old and worn out its painful to even sit,the dining area all of the decor is full of spider webs ,then the breakfast preparation takes forever, there is no variety. We had to go to royal Marang just to have a good meal and comfortable sitting. The outside needs to be maintained because all the water features that you see in the pics are not well taken care off so there really is nothing to see .The place is not being maintained
Lack of a good chef overrule the stay. Portions where cut on half to meet the all inclusive poli y chefs don't know the diference between well done and rare.Food takes for ever to be prepared. The venue is amazingRooms: 3/5
The scenery is beautiful & the silence it’s a get away from the busy city into nature but their prices for food are very expensive for dinner we had a Buffet that was about R195 each person and the only protein available was chicken no other meat was available and then in the morning for breakfast it was 240 per person meaning R1000 for a group of four people. There’s is no menu for anything else and the only option available is always their expensive buffets.
