The hiking trails were more on the adventurous side as the rocky terrain made it more challenging than easy but definitely worth it. The trails were very well marked and the river was clean and so was the trail. Very safe and good for a couple, women alone or small to large groups. Staff was very friendly and helpful, we would definitely recommend

Went here for a day hike with a large group of people on the 22nd of January. It's a beautiful place but when we tried to leave around 3ish all the gates had been closed and we were trapped inside the venue unable to go home. We drove around looking for other exits but there were none. There was no staff at reception to let us out and despite numerous attempts to call the owner there was no response. Out of desperation we lifted the gate off the rail did absolutely nothing to the gate motor and moved it to the side so that we could go home. We had to leave it open so that the cars behind us wouldn't be trapped. All that needed to happen was for the gate to be lifted and placed back on the rail to be fully functional again. The owner then charged us R890 for the gate, which was claimed from the R1000 deposit we paid for the day hike. I can't help but wonder if this isn't a strategy to hold on to deposits. I'd also like to know what else we should've done in that situation. Just a warning to anyone else who may find themselves in the same situation.

Scamming people of their deposit money. They never returned it, when I called after 5 days I was told of a stain on a pillow that I know nothing about. They didn’t even inform me about it.

I had an absolutely wonderful time at Kumbagana. Armand was super friendly and helpful. This place went out of their way accommodated us under unusual circumstances. Eagle Cove Lodge, the backpackers, was very clean and had all of the amenities we needed. There was even a lot of firewood available for us to use to make a beautiful fire in the boma. The highlight really is the hiking trails. It was utterly stunning and I highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay. Kumbagana was lively and quiet during the week we were there, with only the sounds of nature around us. The hikes are challenging but lovely. Jacques, the manager, and staff were friendly, helpful and hospitable. The bar fridge is a bit small for a week's stay, but everything else was perfect.

This is one beautiful place for events, weekend outings and exceptional hiking trails. There have two swimming pools onsite and animals too. The service received from Armand top-notch

We hiked the yellow trail here which was quite fun. Very rocky, trail markings are not too clear on some parts. The trail is also quite bushy, so it doesn't seem like it gets a lot of visits which is a shame because it's a beautiful trail. Loved it:

Worst experience of our lives. We got lost, we called the owner/manager to come and pick us up, where he informed us that hes not there hes in Rustenburg, and theres no one by the reception. He had no idea where we were. We walked from 10 30 till 14 00. No guide with us. Blisters on our feet we had to find a way ourselves back to reception. I will not recommend this place.

Bloody racist. We had booked and payed well in advance for our hiking trip with them and had planned to swim afterwards. However when we got to the venue we were told that there will be a white wedding so we are not allowed to swim anymore. Cos we will disturb their guest. Never booking with them again
