The 5 of us stayed 2 nights! The lodge is well maintained, service is good and the accommodation has everything you need to cook your own food. There is a barbecue for your own braai on the patio along with seating and your own pool!! There is also a restaurant on premises. Additional activities besides the game drives are pools located around the complex, tennis courts, pool table and table tennis in addition to kids playground. If you want to get up close to the animals, there is an underground tunnel that takes you to the hide! We saw elephants drinking at the water hole! You can also watch this on the video cam on the TV. It's a great way to know when to head down to the hide! We were extremely happy with the amount and type of animals we spotted. Every drive we saw many animals. Rangers are very knowledgeable. I recommend this lodge even with international standards.
We stayed for 2 nights and I couldn't fault anything. Our room was comfortable and always clean. We had the buffet breakfast and dinner which was lovely and plenty to choose from. We done a game drive which was amazing! Staff were lovely and very friendly. I would highly recommend staying here.Rooms: 5/5
The staff were most friendly and helpful & the service great. The bush talk good with lots of info to help with the self drive game drive. The tar roads in the park are very bad but the gravel ones are fine we drove a BMWRooms: 5/5
Kwa Maritane is absolutely wonderful. The staff were incredibly helpful in getting us settled into rooms that were appropriate for my mother. The facilities are well maintained and there was an array of activities on-site. The game drives were led by experienced guides and were absolutely amazing.Rooms: 5/5
Great place to get away from the city, good wifi, food options, many activities to do on the premises including swimming cold and heated pools. Was disappointed with the gym, very small for a place that size and should really be expanded to have more than one treadmill for a start. Overall great serviceRooms: 4/5
The checking in was very unpleasant, I waited for a room for close to an hour, yet there were several groups of people who checked in after me who found their rooms ready. Communication was also very weak, nobody cared to explain to me about meal times, not to mention the restaurant where the meals were taken. I understand that they have the information on the TV, but a TV will never direct one to a venue. When I was waiting for the room key no one offered me the juice that was offered to all other guests who came to check in after me, which I found quite odd actually, until I stood up and served myself. After the game drive nobody bothered to inform us what time the dinner service ended at the boma and I waited in the vehicle for close to an hour when everyone had to leave at 10:00, apparently that was the closing time. I liked the place a lot, but communication needs to improve.
the service was over 110%. the staff gave us the best service and I will recommend any one to go and experience it themselves. the service we received from Lulu, Paul, Oneboy was fantabulous. not forgetting the Chef who will come and ask us how is the food. they deserve employees of the monthRooms: 4/5
We cut our trip short due to a shoddy bush experience. 1. Poor service - rude staff at the front desk, little assistance on offer and always a story why they can’t do it, don’t expect any smiles, any service but rather every excuse under the sun 2. Not the lodges issue but no phone service, they offer Wi-Fi which doesn’t work that is the lodges issues - wouldn’t have booked if I had known that as need Wi-Fi to communicate with clients while away. The entire Wi-Fi infrastructure needs a massive overhaul… it is so unstable and a connection doesn’t last for more than a couple of minutes. It is 2022/2023 for gods sake - urgent need of a wake up 3. Bed - don’t expect a nights rest, the mattress haven’t been replaced in decades and the bed has collapsed, a visit to the chiro is required and thus the main reason we cut the trip short, I can now hardly walk due to the bed 4. Food - we order a simple toasted cheese and it came NOT TOASTED .. seriously, when to the bar area and after 15 min got up to ask for a menu as you get ignored, after another 30 min we left as we never got service from anyone 5. The pools - the chlorine is so high the small kids are burnt from it. Everyone is running around looking for cream to assist with the excessive chaffing due to this 6. Activity schedule- a schedule for the kids is given out but if only your child arrives they cancel it- how do you do this to a kid who has woken up to enjoy the activity 7. Management- they came to apologise on day two… nothing changed and nothing got fixed The Pilanesberg is fantastic but rather stay at another lodge, this place needs a massive overhaul
Very commercialised too many kids. Not a place to visit if you are looking for a peaceful break. Also very expensive and although paid alot for the executive rooms was lumped in with the masses no extra special treatment although paid top dollarRooms: 5/5
The restaurant still serves a sumptuous buffet. We had a great day celebrating my mother's birthday. Great views from the patio dining area.Service: 4/5
