Camp site is perfectly located to the game farm entrance. Camp site needs a bit of attention. One ablution no hot water, several showers and toilets out of order. No water at the camp stands. But the staff are friendly and helpful and the grounds are neat. On site shop is small, not well stocked and runs at odd hours. Nearby activities: Open space, safe for children, abundant wild life, put put and bicycle friendly
Resort has gone downhill somewhat with the grass not being cut anymore and some amenities that are out of order for some time now. Camp shop also has very limited stock. But it is still a nice resort with a lot to do, and it is clean and staff is friendly and helpful.
It's very disappointing when you are in the bush hearing the local towns music till 2 in the morning when all you want is peace & quiet. This definitely puts a damper on things, especially when you pay so much to escape the hustle of the city.Rooms: 3/5
For a 3 star place it was very good. I just found the chalet a bit cramped for 4 to 6 people. Location was excellent and service very good. Found the game drive a little expensive
The place needs some TLC but still a great campsite. Only negative is loud music from a neighboring area at night. Really impressed by the staff efforts to get the place back to its former glory.Rooms: 4/5
After visiting Manyane for over 30 years, I was very disappointed this time around. There were rumors of a 3 month strike, and looking at the camp grounds, I could believe it. Some sites had not had the grass cut, and devil thorns were abundant everywhere. Although the ablution blocks were clean, certain toilets, showers and lights were not working. The final straw was what we assumed to be a Shabeen on the outskirts of the camp, which blared out music till the early hours of the morning. The park was not in much better condition. The roads have not been maintained and invader plant species such as khakibos were abundant. The only bright point was Pilanesberg Centre, which was in good repair, had a well stocked shop and served delicious meals. It was also great to see a healthy rhino population. Sadly, it will be a long time before we consider returning.
Camping-camp extremely neat, grass short. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bathroom very neat and clean. Always good to be back at Manyane, my home from home.Service: 5/5
Campsite with great potential and atmosphere, unfortunately it is spiralling into decay through neglect. There is a wheelchair ablution, though the door can’t close properly, lights are out of order, shower seat is not securely attached to the wall and the shower head is uncontrollable. There is no bathtub in the wheelchair accessible ablution and the bathtub in the general ablutions is not accessible. Office and cleaning staff does not care and are unwilling to assist.
We were supposed to check in to Manyane on Friday 3 Feb. We arrived after a very long drive to discover that it was closed due to staff protests, with the entrance blocked by branches and fires. One protest sign said the staff had not received increases in 7 years, which is unconscionable. We were given no warning of this at all. We were given the manager's cell number by the security guard on duty but when we tried to call her phone had been turned off. We managed to get hold of another staff member who told us she had been working at home since two days prior because of the impending protests. This means they had plenty of time to cancel the booking and let us know but they did nothing. We had to book into other much more expensive accommodation nearby as we had already spent money on transport and supplies so we had to spend money we don't have to avoid that loss, with no guarantee that any of our money will be refunded. I support the staff's right to protest, but as for management, they should have at least had the decency to let us know and offer us a chance to reschedule or get a refund. Clearly, the management at Manyane does not care about their guests or their staff. I will never risk booking there again.
We stayed in the tented site it was great lots of game to be seen. Impala walking around in the camp and is quite tame. Awesome!Rooms: 2/5
