Ivory Tree Game Lodge

Even though it's a pricey stay, the lodge is value for money. Amongst others the welcome lunch if you are able to check in at 13H00 was what set them apart for me. Also the fact that they provide 3 meals and two teas means you don't have to worry about what you will eat whilst there. The rooms are nicelydecorated, the food very nice. I would highly recommend for anyone who loves luxury stays in game lodges. The rooms have no TV so it will be ideal to bring your own gadget if you like watching TV. But at the bar there is TV and the places for relaxing are great.

Wonderful warm and friendly service and that from every single member of staff that we encountered, they are a credit to the lodge. The lodge itself is beautiful and the accommodation very comfortable indeed. The food was buffet style, as are most game lodges on account of the majority of guests arriving off game drives but it was fabulous, well presented and delicious. The game drives, which are the focus of any game lodge were fantastic, the drivers wonderfully knowledgeable and experienced. We cannot fault a single aspect of our stay, so much so that we have recommended it to some of our friends who are booked this weekend and we have booked again in October for ourselves and some overseas visitors. Thank you Ivory Tree for a memorable stay we are so looking forward to staying with you again.

Absolutely the best. The food was great. Game Drives and rangers have an excellent sense of humour. Staff were really good. Always keen to assist and think ahead. Detail to the rooms perfect. To ‘SAILOR the dancer. We missed you on Saturday night. You’ll see me again.

We loved our stay here. The staff and their service is first class, the food is stunning. When you wake up you’re treated to a stunning home cooked breakfast buffet, lunch is fantastic and dinner is just beyond this world. You're made to feel welcome from the time you arrive until the time you leave. The food is tasty and plentiful. The rooms are spacious, well ventilated, clean and tidy. The guides aim to get you the best game experience you could hope for, they are super knowledgable and really make the drives worth while, pointing out even the smallest of birds. But of course the nature and animals are the cherry in top.

I came here with my husband and our two best friends for a weekend getaway. wow we had a fantabulous time,the staff,the food,the tour guides. Grant was our tour guide he is witty,helpful,friendly, sweet and funny. The rooms are spacious exquisite very-very clean,the staff go all out to make you feel at home. We are definitely coming back. Thank you guys you really are the best team

Absolutely A****+++ Accommodation So nice We booked an extra night. Staff so nice and welcoming. Lodge fantastic, food amazing and game drives included were fantastic, especially our lovely ranger ERIN, who made our drives so special and fun. Thank you also to Onken and Pretty who made sure everything was just so perfect for us. Great experience. I’ve spend 3 days at the Lodge and have made 6 game drives during my stay. The meals were always fresh made and with a good variety of options. The service of the staff and of our ranger was amazing. We were able to see 4 of the Big 5 in our time in here and always with a good explanation of our ranger Erin. The room was always clean and the open sky shower is amazing! Ants, mosquitos and spiders are part of the experience, and they have insecticide in the room.

No words can describe how amazing this lodge is. I don’t normally write reviews, but felt the need to for Ivory Tree Lodge. I have never stayed at a hotel/lodge like this one. The staff were beyond amazing. Everyone was friendly, they took the time to learn your name and where/ how long you were staying for. We were treated like royalty. The rooms were immaculate and luxurious. I loved the outdoor shower. Such an amazing experience. Besides the morning clean of your room, they also come back at 5pm and give your room a tidy, close the curtains and blinds and give you a surprise on your pillow. Each night we received a little cake and a souvenir of one of the top five animals. A different one each night. Ooh and if you don’t feel like walking to reception, they send a gold buggy to your room to drive you the 200 metres or so. So handy. The game drives were amazing and you can tell it’s not just a job for him, but a passion. So much talent to track the animals. Please remember to tip your driver as they deserve it!!! We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit and can’t recommend it higher.

My second visit to Ivory Tree did not disappoint. When visiting SA, we wanted amazing South African hospitality, delicious food, great wine and incredible sightings While that may sound like a very demanding list of requirements, Ivory Tree did not disappoint. Staff are fantastic and incredibly friendly and helpful. Everyone smiles all the time and goes out of their way to make your stay a memorable one The food is absolutely divine and of the highest quality. Everything tastes amazing and the variety is unbelievable. The boma dinner was outstanding and an absolute treat. You will not go hungry at Ivory Tree. Rooms are clean and cosy with great views. The game drives, well .... the highlight of out stay. We went on both the morning and evening drives, making sure not to miss one. And we were highly rewarded. We had the most incredible and rare sightings. Thank you to the amazing team for an incredible stay.

A wonderful place to relax and experience nature at it its best. Well located with impeccable service, compliments to the chefs... Waiters very friendly! Our Game Ranger Werner for the weekend was very knowledgeable and seeking to always please.. Kudos to him!
