Bakgatla Resort

Really had a good stay. Staff are all very friendly and happy. The unit's are very dated and not that inviting from the outside but they are very clean and neat on the inside. Everything worked and was in good condition. The rooms where cleaned every day and they did the dishes which is always a bonus. They have an extremely large camping area that is also very well kept with sample ablations. I would definitely recommend the venue and will return

Wow what a beautiful holiday. Our family took 6 units at Bakgatla and the all only had good things to say. The resort is well looked after and the lovely welcome we got from the reception ladies, and all the friendly cleaning staff and groundsmen ...their service was brilliant. The units were clean, and were serviced daily which was such a pleasure. Everything in the units worked and if there was a problem, 1 call to reception and they were there to assist. The pool area and toilets were clean. The convenience store was well stocked. Happy :

We stayed for 3 nights in the caravan area and didn't have hot water at all. But overall a great place to campRooms: 5/5

We were over 40 caravans and tents camping at Bagatla Lodge over the long weekend in April. After we set our caravan tent up and unpack that we need to, we took a bit of breath. We noticed that there are monkeys playing around, the next moment, one monkey went into our tent and snatched a bread roll. From there onwards until we left, we had endless issues with the monkeys. Then we get to the bathrooms. Although it was clean once a day in the mornings, it was stinky at all times in the mens ablutions, it doesn't matter to which one you go took. A few lights that was working, majority were not working. Toilets that was out of order. In the campsite itself, no lights were working. The pool was green upon our arrival. Overall just a bad experience. The only positive point was that we never experienced load shedding as they have a big enough generator to supply the campsite with power. Thr tar roads inside the park needs a lot of attention.

Game drive was fun, we saw quite a couple of animals, including lion, giraffe, zebra, rhino, elephant, hippo's, Impala, hartebeest. Bakgatla camp site not the best, not a single toilet that works properly, They also decided to cut grass on a public holiday, and the monkeys are a menace, they ripped out tent open while we were on a game drive and stole from our food. The food was not a big loss, but I am furious about the damage they caused to our tent. Safety: There is a baboon roaming the camp site. And the monkeys are a menace Walkability: Alot of paper thorns evertwhere Food & drinks: Minimum supply, make sure you pack enough of everything Noteworthy details: Most disgusting communal bathrooms at camp sites. They must do something to the toilets. Not a single toilet flush.

Bakgatla Resort used to be my favourite camping spot when visiting Pilanesberg. I am absolutely shocked at the dilapidated state of the camp. The grass was recently cut and left in the camping area making it a perfect fire hazard for when a piece of burning coal might escape one of the broken braai stands left all over. We could not find a single braai that was not broken in some way. We were moved to a different camp site as we were told the ablution block near our tent was out of order....NONE of the ablution blocks had working toilets. Furthermore, my friend and I chose to set up our tent slightly away from all the other campers. What a mistake! We were terrorized by the security all night who kept on passing through our camping spot directly next to our tent and would shine lights directly onto our tent while talking loudly. We barely got any sleep. At some point someone beat our tent with brances and shook the tent. I don't know if it was a ploy to get us to come out of the tent but the whole experience was terrifying. Bakgatla, you will never see me again!

The chalets are well equipped and very comfortable. They are serviced and get cleaned every morning which is really great. The aircon is fantastic however I do feel that there should be a built in fan in the loft area as it gets extremely hot up there.

Skip this place. Stayed Nov 2022. One of many lovely stays here over the past 18 years but going downhill. Three Chalets broken into including ours and valuables stolen. No support or even reaction from management. Poor security and facilities in desperate need of maintenance. Day visitors spoilt the weekend with noise and litter. Sorry for the staff who are helpful and friendly but management leave much to be desired.

I am impressed after all the reviews I read I was worried however the resort is 3star basic which is perfect, ablution toilets could flush better but they flush. Our neighborhours have been super helpful to us as we have not camped in years. Monkeys are hectic, guess we in nature. ITS IMPORTANT PEOPLE DONT FEED THEM!!! Service at the restaurant was good and the food was delicious.

Was o lying there for checking the road for a client via TOSAS. Abeautiful tranquil space for families, am surely going with my pips for a lekker weekend daso. For the exquisite it takes going there to understand what am saying. Well done well done well Location: 5/5
