Family run Madeira Seafood and Steakhouse is a household name for many locals in Bergvliet Cape Town. Floripes and Hendrik Horn welcome you to their relaxed and cozy Portuguese restaurant which makes for the perfect dining out experience with friends and family alike.

All of our dishes are exclusively derived from the Madeira way. An extensive selection of freshly prepared traditional Portuguese dishes is always available including vegetarian, fish, poultry, and the famous trinchado meat options. Madeira is a small island off the Portuguese coast which embodies the style, atmosphere and food choice of our restaurant.

While Floripes will always have a friendly smile to offer as manager, Hendrik can be found in the kitchen cooking up a storm.

Took my wife here in the afternoon for lunch with our two children. Our first time visiting this establishment. We have been living in Cape Town now for 11 months and have tried so many venues. This is a place I am so sorry we never tried earlier. What amazing service. Our waitress was friendly, joyful and so wonderful. The eisbien was the best I have ever had. The Mussle Pot was the best my wife ever had. Our children loved their respective portions of the squid heads. Atmosphere was welcoming. They also have my favorite beer on tap which is Ice cold. It became a wonderful experience and not just a lunch. We loved it so much that we have been telling other family about it and I am happy to say that my aunt has decided to go there tonight for her birthday. So I'm really happy to be returning to this special and awesome restaurant. Keep it up Madeiras' team!
Wow! Such amazing experience! We joined friends for New Years eve at Madeira's and had the best time! Excellent music, awesome drinks specials, fantastic food and best of all...amazing service! The waiters are all attentive, fun and super fast! One of our food orders got mixed up, but the waiter apologised, whisked it away and returned with the correct grub super fast! Really 5 star service all round! Thank you!
Top spot. The owner is very involved. The food is delicious and well priced. Nice spot to watch the ruggas or any sport event. They always have a great special or three. Parking: Safe, secure and close
Our first time at Maderias There's seating outside - but it's more for smokers so doesn't lend itself to a comfortable outdoor setting for non-smokers. . We enjoy Portuguese food and they had R99 lunch specials. We ordered the Prego and the Peri Peri Chicken. Sadly the Prego steak lacked that delicious Portuguese garlic flavour that comes from marinating. It was a good portion size steak and when it arrived it all looked so good and promising but it was just so disappointing The chips were good. The Peri Peri Chicken flesh was dry although the chicken was served with sauce -so perhaps overcooked chicken or last night's leftovers. The stir fry vegetables were also completely overcooked. Our waitress was super friendly .
5 stars in my books is hard to get, so the 4 stars here is rather good. Food was very tasty, especially their home made sauces. Ribs were slightly on the dry side but tender and tasty. Their Prego rolls were delicious. Chips, salad, veggies was all standard. Atmosphere was nice thanks to the heater, but the acoustics in the room made it a little harder to hear. With all that said, I would gladly return here to taste some more of their food, hence the 4th star. Service was good, prices reasonable and they have some unique items on their menu.
Don't judge a book by it's cover This Bar and Bistro took me by complete and utter surprise. The old style of the original house was kept with and added twist. A savanna twist theme. Situated on the main road it is easy to drive past. The waitress was friendly, on top of her game and descriptive with the menu. This place has everything from platters for one to platters to share up to 6 people, seafood, chicken or beef burgers, wraps, schnitzels, surf and turf, wine, shooters and hard liquor. Gluten-free options are also available. Delicious side orders such as side vegetables, side salads, onion rings and a big variety of sauces. The vegetables and chicken strips were a little oily so ease up on the oily love chef. I want to come back ! Freshly made baguette garlic bread is a must try. Don't forget the dessert. Waffles, ice cream, chocolate brownies and chocolate mouse. Need a place to host a year end function, baby showers or birthday, Medeiras does it all.
This is one of the best restaurants to enjoy an eishbein. Service is good, great vibe and live music on the weekends. It's definitely worth a visit.
Visited on Friday 03 March with my wife for supper. Staff were polite, professional, and helpful. Food was EXCEPTIONAL!! Very tasty and well prepared, yummy! The atmosphere is lively, warm, and inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back with friends.
The food was delicious, and there were great specials during the week . Would definitely go back for lunch again.
This is an experience that must be had! Daily lunch specials under R100. Great live music 3 times per week. This is not a quiet place. This restaurant is vibey as! Great happy hour specials. Best Eisbein and ribs in my opinion. Inside and outside seating. Seafood platter probably on par with the top Cape Town restaurants. Best service I've encountered in Cape Town
