We just had my son's 5th Birthday party at Sci-Bono and it was honestly nothing short of incredible. The kids were all so entertained by the Slime making workshop, the science show and the short little tour we did of the Centre. We were also very lucky to have part of the planetarium show as we had a space themed birthday. Everyone is still raving how much their kids enjoyed it. I can highly recommend.
Wonderful place to take kids for a stimulating and fun experience. You can even have kids birthdays there. Staff are very friendly and helpful Maswabi at reception is the best!. Highly recommend. Google Maps doesn't direct you to the boomed, outside parking. Had to call for directions when we arrived.
The most fun we had in ages! Well kept, helpful and friendly staff, well priced and there's SO MUCH to see and learn, and the best part is all the exibits are interactive, so it was wonderful that my son could touch and participate! Absolutely worth a visit! Thank you!
The best place for discovering about science and technology. The have a lot of exhibitions in their halls. You can also get lessons from a number experts who work there
Loving it. Great place for kids and adults. Hidden treasure in a way. Engaging staff and the cafe is brilliant too !
Wonderful outing to take the kids on and so much to see and do at the center. Lots of hands on activities, 2 massive climbing walls and loads of educational activities to try out. There are no signs, directions or maps to guide you through the building so that would be a big help as there is just so much to see and do that you definitely miss a lot of it due to the lack of signs. Each activity has a clear sign with a description of what it does and kids can follow the instructions to try out the gears, pulleys, motors, buttons, etc. There is definitely enough to keep your kids busy for a few hours if you stop at each item. We'll be back soon with the rest of the family to visit the sections that we missed.
I had a daylong layover in Johannesburg, and I saw high ratings for this place and decided to rent a car just to go here for the day with my 4 year old son. It's a large facility with a lot of exhibits that are pretty good, but many of the things were not working and it was dark and a bit sad. Perhaps there was a power outage that they did not mention to me, but about 75% of the things there were not working. We made the best of it and still had a good time, but I would have done something else had I known.
Awesome when children get to touch everything. As compared to the usual "do not touch" we are accustomed to seeing in other museums. Completely interactive setup. Enjoyable for both kids and adults. Suitable for all ages. Including teenagers.
Amazing place for both Children and adults. We arrived at 10am and left at 4pm and didn't have enough time to explore all the scientific exhibits. The classes and demonstrations are wonderful. My children loved the day there, haven't stopped talking about Sci-bono and asking when we can go back. An absolute gem in the heart of our City.
I love the experience. Definitely will be going again. They have alot to keep kids busy all day. Make sure, you as a parent are in comfortable shoes to enjoy the place as well.
