Thornhill Safari Lodge Kruger National Park South Africa

The Thornhill Safari Lodge is beautiful and blends in seamlessly with the surrounding environment. The attention to detail in the decor, amenities, and furnishings was impressive, creating a luxurious yet rustic ambiance. The lodge staff was friendly and attentive, going out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The meals were delicious. I had the pleasure of going on a late afternoon/evening game drive on the first day and a full day tour at Kruger National Park on the second day. Both tours had outstanding guides who made my experience unforgettable. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about wildlife, and enthusiasm for the environment was contagious. The guides' expertise in spotting animals was impressive, and their explanations of each species were fascinating, making the experience feel personalized and immersive. It was evident that the guides deeply respected the environment and the animals we saw. Another highlight was the morning game walk from the lodge. The guide for the game walk was Incredibly knowledgeable about the animals we saw and the habitats they lived in. She took the time to explain each animal's behavior and characteristics, making the experience both educational and thrilling. Her expertise extended beyond just the animals, as they were also well-versed in the local culture and history. They shared fascinating stories about the people who lived in the area and their traditions, adding depth and richness to my experience. I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for an authentic experience. Excellent service, beautiful accommodations, and unforgettable safari experiences make this lodge a must-visit destination.

From the moment we arrived, despite being terribly late, we were welcomed and made to feel like VIPs. David is THE most amazing host and barman who is attentive to his guests needs and incredibly entertaining. Nicolette made certain everything was catered for and is super attentive to the finest details needed to make the stay fantastic. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the kitchen definitely exceeded expectation. We will definitely be back!!!!!

We spent a few days at Thornhill Safari Lodge in 2021 and we really enjoyed our stay. We visited a lot of waterfalls and had a great game drive in Kruger Park that the lodge organized for us. We have best memories to our great evenings at Davids bar. He's such a nice and funny barkeeper and a great guy. He made the evenings something special!

Excellent stay within Thornhill. Thank you to the whole team, very warm and caring for us. Thanks to David for his kindness, thanks to Dudu for her delicious dishes, thanks to Sam and Maurice for their explanations on the environment and a big "Big UP" to Goodman for two great days in the Kruger. We recommend this establishment for sure.

We had a wonderful stay at Thornhill Safari Lodge! The daily activities were amazing and well organised! We were able to have great experiences at Kruger, look out for many many different animals and enjoy this beautiful place on earth. But the most important thing about Thornhill are the people there. The staff was so kind and really really great. Especially we want the say thank you to David and Sam. 1000 hugs and more to you guys! David is a great and kind big hearted person and made our stay unforgetable. Sam is a great person and also a genius and we learned so much about nature and wildlife from him. He made it possible that we could spot the leopard! We are very happy that we could enjoy this wonderful moments with you guys! Thanks a lot! 5 Stars and more!!

we recently stayed at Thornhill bush resort and wow , the amazing service from the start to the end that we received from David who was our host , barman . His got the most amazing bubbly personality that creates such an awesome atmosphere. When he found out i was allergic to dairy he quickly made a plan and spoke to the chef . Within a few minutes i had lunch in front of me that had no dairy . Very refreshing to see such good service especially during these tough months . He does everything with a smile . The chef was outstanding , his food was amazing and went out of his way to make food that was dairy free for me . Everyone had flap jacks for breakfast and he made me dairy free ones , made soup without cream . His got such a friendly nature as well . They defiantly made the vacation extra special and I would come back just because of DAVID AND CHEF .

What an amazing stay we had in this lodge. From the very beginning we loved it. David was always so helpful and full of life, Nicolette was so accommodating when organizing all our activities and Johanna is such a talented cook and we always looked forward to her evening meals by the fire! The room was such a nice space and the outdoor shower really made you feel like you were in the bush for your whole stay. Joe and Goodman also made our stay so memorable with their expertise when it came to the game drives which we took part in. It was lovely to meet Conor and Isabelle who we were given the opportunity to talk to at dinner around the fire. We will definitely be back! Well located, staff were attentive and always ready to help. The day visit to Kruger was fantastic. Goodman was an excellent guide, knowledgeable, great sense of humour and kept us engaged throughout the day. Thanks to Nicolette and David for taking such good care of us.Rooms: 5/5

The staff was exceptional, our rooms were cleaned to perfection. The food ..oh my goodness the food!!! It was so yummy, those chefs deserve a big raise. Lambs the tour guide was amazing, he really made our stay wonderful. Akani was a great host, i really hope the staff is paid wellRooms: 5/5

Such an incredible experience at Thornhill Safari Lodge! David got sure we received the best possible service. All staff were super polite, friendly and competent, but especially a big kudos for being super child friendly! My kids loved it there. Some wildlife come around to visit the lodge, our highlight was Lady Gaga the ostrich. The pool was renovated and the sundowner deck was perfect. The food was excellent with a very good variety, even catered for vegetarians. Thanks for the lovely experience!
