Well equipped gym...even though Virgin Active SA still needs to do better. Legs, back equipment has improved in other Continents. Clean gym with good vibe.
The gym is in a good location at the Pavilion Shopping mall, but separate. It is always clean and neat. Sufficient safe undercover parking and a dedicated elevator. Full size heated pool and a small steam room, but no sauna or jacuzzi or running track etc. They do however offer some classes like yoga and there are always several trainers on site and in standby. Nice dedicated Kauai on site too. Not very many machines as well, and not the full selection. Limited space, all on one floor so it is very full during peak times. But a good gym overall for a non-classic Virgin Active.
Situated at Pavilion Mall. Convenient if you need to grab something from the shops after a workout. Been a member since 2018. Well equipped gym, all the equipment is on one level, easy accessible. One workout studio, one bicycle studio and a 25m sized pool. Steam room. Kauai store in the gym. Staff are friendly. Overall good gym.
We went here recently to enjoy a meal at Kauai as Google had suggested the nearest Kauai being at Virgin Active Pavilion and were met by such a cold reception at the gym advising us that we weren't allowed inside to enter the restaurant but we can order from outside, the setup seemed very disorganized and unprofessional. We were very disappointed in our experience at this gym and its reception. I personally would suggest that Kauai take this matter up with the facility as this surely isn't in its client's best interest.
This is a fairly new gym and it was my first visit here. The gym is well layed out and there is space around the machines. They also seem to have a newer version of some machines compared to the gym i normally use. Th circuit here is a newer type that has 2 sets of 5 machines with some differently shaped blocks between them. I prefer the old type circuits. Also the weight values are already peeling of the weights.
Didn't take pics but I have to say, that my 1st day was amazing...the services for beginners are really awesome....motivating and encouraging. There's a kick start programme for beginners where you get sent Nutritional info and well as help with training...there are videos sent to you depending on your goal. It's clean, neat....the change rooms are amazing....even hairdryer and ghd.
Extremely clean and very helpful trainers. The area is easy to find and the Kauai was so tasty! Definitely recommend an ab sesh and c breeze smoothie
I have visited a few gyms in different provinces of South Africa. This gym just have a more pleasant vibe and people actually smile. The facilities are always hygiene and staff very helpful. Well done Virgin Active Pavilion. My favourite gym by far for now. Keep up the good work
Nice gym with nice scenery both sides. The gym is open and big enough with swimming pool and Kauai.
Gym is good but the theft and level of support provided is poor. You enter at your own risk and of course the gym takes no accountability. Yes even locked lockers broken into
