Animal Care and Protective Services

I recently moved to Jacksonville FL. I have a small indoor dog but decided to be safe and get her Rabies Tags if she ever gets lost or we need hurricane evac. options. I print out and submit the Form with Rabies Cert and Personal Cheque. I received the Tag in the mail last night. My invoice has a hand written note saying "Tag is only valid until May 2018. New Tags come out in June 2018." So why did I pay $20 for a Tag that is only valid for 16 days? I am disgusted. Why isn't this information anywhere on your website? They should have contacted me (after all they have all my information) and let me know! What a waste of time, paper, postage and money. I feel EXTREMELY cheated. I feel like I have been failed. You should feel ashamed by your appalling actions & lack of information provided! What a disservice to our community, you should be embarrassed to hold the public office that you occupy!

Called about a stray dog in my naborhood that had a big cut on her belly. Nice dog my daughter liked her. But ever since I called the about her i told them I would take her if they could help her. I contacted them multiple time left messages and emails. I even went there to check on her cause my daughter has been asking about her. So I told the over ten time we wanted the dog. Do you know it when she healed they didn't even let me know and they gave her to someone else. So need my daughter is upset at me cause I let her friend go. Thank you guys now I'm the bad guy.

Willow is so loving and obedient. I love her to death. I have no idea why someone would get rid of such a sweet dog.

Great place for animal adoptions. I adopted a cat from there and they allow you to do what's called a "sleep-over" for 2 weeks first just to be sure it's a good fit with the animal. Great people there who really care about the animals and you!

Is this a no kill facility? I got a rescue during Hurricane Irma and have been looking for a good home for him while nursing him back to health from heart and tape worms. He is good to go and as energetic as can be. He will be 5 May 8, so his size makes it hard to place and then the fact that he doesn't like cats and some dogs make it close to impossible to find him a good home. He is loving and is protective of his owner. Very spoiled, too. I just have two jobs and a drad student and can't keep him. It's been tough all these months, but I don't want him on the streets or end up being abused. Any suggestions?
