Some of the staff only see the worst in people. Judgement is cloudy probably due to people neglecting animals

I Chose a dog to adopt. Was told that I had until 4:00 to bring up my other dog for a "meet and greet" to ensure that they would be compatable. It was 3:00 at that time. My husband left work to bring my chihuahua over, and I waited in the facility for him. 4 teenagers came in and looked at the same dog that I wanted. Then the worker told me they were going to adopt her. As I was sitting there waiting for my other dog to arrive! I should have been given the "first right of refusal" for the adoption, and then the others second.!!!! Meet and greets are critical to reduce the incidence of "returns", and I expected more professionalism from Clay County Animal Control. Think twice about adopting a pet from this facility! The pets deserve better than this!!!

where is a website or Facebook page to view current animals up for adoption????? other animal control sites have them

They never answer the phone. Horrible customer service especially since they let us foster sick kittens and told us to call and follow up if we were concerned.
